Unfortunately, from what I understand, the N53 will debut in Europe first, while being delayed for North America till 2007/2008 due to delays in lowering the sulphur content in the fuel here in North America.
Isn't the turbo engine using DI? And isn’t that engine supposed to reach the US in the 335 very soon? So why would DI in another engine (N53) have a problem if the turbo with DI doesn’t have a holdup?

You're correct, the bi-turbo (N54) uses DI too.

However, according to some in-the-know (E90fleet?, Tine?), BMW is still tweaking and hasn't finalized the set-up on the bi-turbo for North American fuel. Hence, the quoted 306 hp is rated for Europe only; North America may get lower hp.

Are you implying the US may not get DI with the turbo?

Pretender, this link has another US spec PSed e92: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showth...age=5&p=245853

No, the bi-turbo has DI, whether in Europe or North America, or anywhere else in the world.

However, the DI requires very low sulphur fuel; otherwise the injectors get fouled up from the sulphur deposits.

Ok, that goes back to my original question from post 46... if the turbo (coming to the US very soon) uses DI, then why would the N53 that uses DI be delayed for the US until 2007/2008*?

*2007/2008 N53 US delay due to DI claimed in your post 45

Sorry. After re-reading your last question in post #46, I now understand what you're asking.

Good question. To which I don't have an answer.

E90fleet may know the answer.

Today is a much better day. Yesterday, when I looked at these pics, I was disappointed with the overall look for the 335i. But this morning, I find myself liking the pics more and more. The only view that I still don't care for is the profile. Like some of you have said before, it looks like it's missing 2 doors. I feel like it should be a little shorter from door handle to the trunk.

Its not the Injectors but the Catalitic Converters

For the high temperature lean burn mode the car needs special CAT's and these are very sensitive to sulphure

The front half looks good, but not the rear half. I prefer the e46 coupe more.

No one knows what their plans dor the USA are

Maybe they are taking the turbo there, but not allowing it to run in the lean mode due the fuel, or maybe they will delay its intro till the fuel is available next year

We will have to wait and see a US press release

GregA can look at the photos and tell by where they were taken if they are the real gig or not. His descriptions have been extremely accurate. I do not recognize the scenery, is this the remote Scottish road that has been discussed? Some shots look more like the big island (Hawaii).

The pics are official.

The press already got the press kit - this time for real

BMW AG are relly furious with carscoop.blogspot - this time the site went too far. The leaking has become systematic. BMW AG are thinking to sue the site author.

Marketing dept. was in shock after seeing 335i pics from Amsterdam Airport circulating on the internet. But yesterday - and even more today - even bigger shock: the press pics leaked. Again. By same leaker: carscoop.

Any news on SMG/DCT?

I would appreciate any info on a sequential gearbox for the E92/E93, especially 330i. Thanks

Perhaps they are leaked, but I doubt and think they are PS. And I also have doubts about the technical speculations/specifications mentioned in: http://carscoop.blogspot.com/2006/04...ies-coupe.html regarding acceleration, fuel-consumption and other specs of the 335i. If they had accurate information, they wouldn't have supplied a link to an external source, which states, all official information is still to come, but will be in the near future.

If they had accurate information, they would not betray their source at this point.
