How does it compare to the Pirellis? Mine is about due.

I brought it in today, and still have 3-5000km left - making it lasting 30k. So it lasted a lot longer than you guys - may be I drive like a grandma most of the time.

I went for oem sport sizes 215/245. I note compared to 225/255 it will be about 5kg less unsprung weight.

A shame I have to replace all 4 at once as both front tyres still have 4mm of tread ALL the way across as measured at my last service - am amazed at the even wear.
Let me know what you think as well .

How much is shipping from Tyre rack? Just priced up some Pzeros and I can't get a quote for shipping, as I don't have a US zip code.

I can't fault them, and their wet weather performance had been excellent.

Smarm, you need to email gill@tirerack.com with your address and the tyres you want. He'll send you a quote with the reference and then you pay via bank transfer and in usually less than a week, you get brand spanking new tyres!

I personally went for Michelin Pilot Sport 2s with a squared setup and incredibly happy with them.

Can't remember cost of the tyres but they are posted on tirerack website. As for shipping this was $307.50 usd door to door. Took 7 days via fedex.

I paid no extra fees as cost was under $1000 AUD. Hope this helps.

Legally and for safety you only need to do each axle. Provided you are not fitting wildly different tyres front to rear (grip wise), there is no safety issue is mixing from front to rear. In fact you can use it to balance the car. Eg. based on my driving style, I'd prefer to have "grippier" tyres at the rear than the front.
I did ponder this but am a bit uneasy fitting different rolling diameters front to rear.

I need to highly recommend the Goodyear Eagle GS-D3. Have them on my fronts at the moment and are the best wet-grip tyre and stable dry-tyre i've ever known. They are pricey, but the grip, braking grip and confidence is far above anything else i've ever driven on.

I will be ordering my yokohama s drives this week from tirerack.com. The total price is under 900usd delivered which is very good value in my opinion. Hopefully they have decent grip but I will let you guys know more once they are fitted

Thinking of going down this route, my tyres are down to about 4mm tread after the weekend for some reason. And only 16000kms!

My only concern with these tyres is what to do when one gets a puncture. They don't seem to be available locally so would I be off the road until I can import replacements?

For local options I'm leaning towards Goodyear F1 GS-D3's. Jeef: what was the option you recommended to me on the weekend? (or was it last weekend)

edit: scrap the F1 GS-D3s - they don't come in the sizes I need

Where do I list for sale items on the Forum? I have new 18X8.5 and 18X7.5 Breyton Race GTS-R wheels with Yokohama S-Drive tires
(215/40R18 and 245/35R18) to sell. Only have 967 miles on them. I paid about $2,200 with shipping via the Tire Rack (tires mounted on the new wheels). I'm buying the 19X8.5 BE Breyton GTSAV Hyper wheels which look exactly alike, with 4 of the 225/35R19 XL Yokohama S-Drive tires. The S-Drives look soooo good too!

Anyone have any advice about the pros and cons of my change of wheels and tires? The 18's look awesome! I must be bored or crazy to change to the larger 19" wheels and tires, but I love to waste money... hopefully for a better appearance, I'm not an aggressive driver!

Would anyone reccommend that I lower my 135i about an inch, rather than buy the 19" tires and wheels?

I appreciate any advice.

Yokohama S drive. Both seems to have good reviews and very good prices. Can anyone comment on which one is better?

Also, any other tyres which I should be considering?

Hey Allan!

I replaced my front axle recently with Goodyear Eagle F1 symmetrical. Went from 205 to 225.

The tyres are very, very good. The wet handling is unbelievable, as they're a wet tread. The dry handling is nothing short of the wet, either. 600 for the set, but very glad a got them.

Quiet: very much so - little bumps no longer shudder the car and freeway speeds are deathly quiet.

Grip: unreal. Wet, dry, braking. They're a very "tacky" tyre so the dry stuff is excellent.

She does tram-line a little, but that's a result of my width.

Wear: quite good, think they'll last me 30k or so and I dont granny it.

Cheers,
Alex
