changing xenon bulb
Folks,
So silly question maybe. I've run out of performance mods to do to my car for the most part, and all the mods I've done have been upwards of thousands of dollars. I wanted to do some cool 'minor' mods. I purchased a set of OSRAM CBI 5500k bulbs, they produce more lumen and brighter white light than our stockers. Coming from an S2000 I always disliked how meh our HID's looked in comparison. That said.. I've read that taking these headlight covers is a 50/50 chance of getting moisture and frying something. Can I improve the chances by following these steps: if I purchase brand new headlight covers (30+shipping for both) and take off the front bumper and headlight and plug everything in and throw new cover OFF the car. i mean, i gotta be at least 90/10 right? :P not far off is possible OSS mod but if this goes well I may just do LUX. Thoughts? ne1 go this far? Thanks! Seems that combination of older cars, not replacing the headlight seals and trying to do it on the car and not getting them on air tight could b the majority of issue people have. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...=219345&page=3

I take off and install the headlight covers all the time and had no problems.
I changed the hid's to 5000k and Angel eyes to multiple different halogen and led's and never had any problem with moisture. And I should also add that it rains a lot here in Vancouver. You just have to make sure you the the back on right. Slide the bottom of the covers in first and try wiggling it. It should be on tight and not wiggle about even before putting the clips back on. I don't think you need to go to that extreme measures and buy new covers and take off the bumper... |

well i didnt have to take the 2nd headlight off.. figured out when i had the entire passenger side assembly in my hand what the trick is..
theres these 2 pegs at the bottom of the cover that have to slide into the 2 holes for them first, there should b no wiggle room even before you throw the clips on if they're set right.. easily click back on. will know 100% when it rains lol
