New Xenon Headlight Option?

I searched, and couldnt find a thread showing these lights..

The description says "XENON (BI-FUNCTION), DAYTIME RUNNING LIGHT, DYNAMIC BENDING LIGHT - w/AUTO ADJUST - LEFT - OES PART #: 63127164931"

And it doesnt look like they have the amber colored corners. I was looking to replace my headlights because they are not in the best of shapes. Has anyone tried these from Amazon.com?

realoem has them as : AHL-xenon headlight

But certainly a great find if this is the OEM manufacturer, and if it has no amber

With luck 128i's can enjoy some retrofits

Note no AMBER,more grey

Because these are 400+/side
You are better off buying used set of LCI ( 2012+) headlights, even with the amber. Or hunt for new Euro LCI. Total cost will be 1500 or something like that

EDIT:

OMG Valeo makes LCI no amber, with grey side marker ( BMW is clear)

Probably are, dont expect cheaper prices though unless you choose not to get AHL and just stick to vertical self leveling , Valeo is OE BMW mfg for the lights.

Non-AHL is fine with me. It seems to cause more issues anyway. Just can't find these headlights available

Just to make sure, if I was to install LCI headlights as a replacement for my pre-LCI, would they work aside from the eyebrow not lighting up?

The idea is Yes, no eyebrow unless you splice a cable as been discussed elsewhere. The only issue is AHL, you may need to code it out, or leave it unplugged.

Can you follow up post here where you source them from. Ebay.de seems to be the most relaible location or that Forum member with a euro connection

You can pay a premium and get a complete set (ballasts, control unit, bulbs, etc)

http://www.ebay.de/itm/BMW-E81-E82-E...item338c5adf8d

and they DO ship to the USA.

Is the difference not just coding between LHD and RHD?

The one I showed are from ebay.de ... not ebay.uk

Buying from ebay.de will get you LHD lights, which is what we need in the USA.

I heard that you can get UK ones coded or adjusted at dealerships? Not sure what it entails though.

They look MUCH nicer than OEM LCI lights. I hate the eyebrow BMW decided to tack on there. Looks like an afterthought.

The grey inside is a nice color. I might get a set of these in non AHL.

the LHD/RHD difference is due to the projector shield. The projector line goes up on the passenger side. So in LHD - headlight beam would be like ___/----
RHD - headlight beam would be the opposite: ----\____

so having RHD on US roads, you'd possibly blind oncoming traffic. This is the situation for RHD vehicles imported to Canada/US.
