With the gauges off, it looks like an alien popping out of your dash.

My car's at the dealer today getting the vanos bolts and battery cable recalls done. Also getting my last free oil change before the warranty expires Thursday. Told the dealer not to update any software and no car wash. Hope all goes well.

Got my 1-Series sketch in the mail

For my 1.5 yr anniversary last week this beauty came in the mail. Today I'm going to get it framed. What a nice surprise!

I've been looking at frames online since I got mine a couple of weeks ago. So, if you happen to find something that works well, please share! Seems like it's custom or bust since it's an unusual size at 9x12. I want to put it on my desk though, not on the wall, which may be the problem.

I stuck new led interior lights in my overhead console to replace the non-canbus ones that were in there before. Now they don't shut off after 10 seconds of being on!

I also started to think about trying to do something really stupid: Beaglebone black running airplay software while talking to the stereo via iPod Accessory Mode. Airplay quality while still being able to control my iPhone from the steering wheel. Best of both worlds.

Dropped her off at a nice detailing spot in Brooklyn yesterday. I always pass the place rolling out Ferrari's, Land Rovers, etc looking brand new. Needless to say I'm like a little kid waiting the next few hours for them to call me to pick it up.

I have a detailer come to my house every couple of months. Did it last week after having it at the dealer for a few days. Always feel really good afterwards. Love spending a little money on my baby and having her all gussied up to perfection.

Welp, they didn't finish my car as planned, costing me a day of work. My car better look perfect tomorrow

I'm sorry to hear that. I'm sure it'll look great. You can't rush perfection.

drove 1200 miles in 3 days. This car just want to gobble up the highway! If only other drivers understood the basic concept of "pass left, cruise right"

Keep her dust free with my Zymol wool dust wand. Everyday, a ritual to keep my washes down a bit here in dry and sunny SoCal.. Also purchased the RaggTopp Fabric Convertible Top Cleaner/Protectant Kit to keep my black top lookin sexy

Does this also help with the black soot that accumulates at the rear of the car? That stuff is impossible for me to take off with anything else.

It seems to do a great job all around dt Rear soot seems to be come off lickedy split. Our parking lot here at work is next to an industrial laundry processing facility. I get everything from white lint to crusty plastisized filaments. The wand does an amazing job across the boards, I highly recomend it for everything but a convertible top..its only so-so here and errant wool fibers just seem to want to stick to it..lol.

Slightly off OE topic: Anyone reccomend any kind of wand/bruch to keep your fabric soft top clean day to day? I'm almost hinking a more mellow lint roller wouldn't be a 1/2 bad idea.

I use the original California duster on my car every day. It helps keeps a clean car dust free. It has a light coat of paraffin wax on it which helps a lot in removing dust. The older it gets the better it works. That's what they advertise, anyway.

Cavu and I were at Fuel for Cars and Coffee this morning. It was amazing that our 135s with their inferior brakes were able to stop in the parking lot and not take out a Porsche or Vette.

I like the contrast between your lemans blue and CAVU's mineral grey. Both beautiful colors.

I know what you mean about those inferior brakes on the 135s too. With the 13.3 inch 6 piston brembos up front always stopping on a dime. Damn them.

Glazed the paint with Auto Finesse and drove the car in a spirited manner. Good times.

Thanks.

This was the first time I heard the PE from behind while the car was in motion. I trailed Cavu and we went under an old railroad overpass and the sound was awesome. We also were behind my friend's RX7 so the sound from all three was incredible.

We did sort of drive a bit spirited on our route home I have to say. My car is faster since it doesn't have the navi weighing me down and therefore it stops shorter due to the 5 lb less weight.
