Great to see you finally got this through!! Thanks again dude you bring a lot to the forums! GB Warranty, CRT Lip, Whats next?!!! lol

Now just trying to weigh whether 2+K per year for 2-3 years of warranty is worth it for what it covers, considering I plan on getting into HPDE/Tracking the car for fun.

Would it be safe to assume as with all other regular warranties that anything in the realm of FMIC upgrades, Intake, Exhausts, suspension, or the like will void the warranty?

Sadly I do not know the answer to that. I had exhaust/intake done on my 135. The dealer knew and nothing was voided, but I never had an issue either.

Well I had one early on and they asked me to return the exhaust to stock form for them to diagnose it.

I'll have to try and have a friendly chat about that with my SA.

Anyone on here have experience with the extended warranties really paying off in the long run? Its a great price compared to MSRP, but it sure is a chunk of change for 2 years of semi-complete "insurance."

Thanks again

My guess is that after-market mods will be treated just the same under the extended warranty as they are on the regular warranty. If they caused the failure, BMWNA won't cover it so the dealer will pass the bill onto you.

I look at it this way, even with my mods, I know there will be other issues I'll need addressed that should be covered. And since my dealer charges $140 per hour, I don't want to have to deal with that. Last fall my AC went out, turned out there was a leak near or in the evaporator, and they had to pull the dash to get at it. Hell, they wanted to charge me three hours of labor to pull the bumper and fix a leak in the washer system that might have been caused when my oil cooler or intercooler was installed, thus not a warranty repair. If it was a defective piece, I'd be fully covered, but they couldn't tell without pulling the bumper. So if they bill that relatively simple task at three hours, how much time does it take to pull the dash?

BTW, I heard back about the credit card charge. $50 on the warranty I want, which also equals 2% in my case, so it's one or the other.

Again Papethova, thanks for doing all the work on this. I'm sure it was no easy task. The best my dealer would offer was $200 off MSRP. They claim there's not much mark-up on those, but thanks to you we all know that's b.s.

I'm on the fence on this, maybe some of you can help me decide. I got my 09 135i new 3 years ago almost to the day and have 38.5k miles clocked. So far other than recall work, the only thing fixed on my car was a blown fuse for the AC fans. It appears I "got a good one". I know things can change and change quickly, but given my car's track record thus far, it appears foolish to put down any money on an extended warranty. However, I know parts and labor on BMWs ain't cheap and can add up quickly. I was hoping some of you who have had moderate to major repairs could share what it would have cost you if you were out I warranty. For example if I found out it'd cost $2000 to replace a turbo, it'd be much easier to justify. Thanks, guys... Hope you all can help me make my decision!

Its still a gamble no matter what. I have researched this way before I picked mine up last week. I think a replaced turbo will be over $2000 from what I heard. My biggest fear is weird electronic issues. Another guy on here recently had AC issues and said they were going to have to pull the dash, which has got to be at least a 10+ hour job.

For me its insurance. I have the money to spend right now after selling my suv. 3 years from now who nows if I could afford a big repair bill. This warranty is from BMW, not a third party. Its transferrable and pro-rated should I decide to sell it.

Anyone sent in their key yet? Im going to do this next week.

I think the 30k mile service on the 1M is $1500, I cant imagine a turbo swap is cheaper than a routine service.

Ive asked for a quote on a turbo swap, Ill update when I get it.

This to me is key, BMW product and transferable which increases resale value.

True, definitely an important factor over other warranties. correct me if I'm wrong but the maintenance is additional on top of the warranty correct? So were talking about $8k for extended warranty and maintenance.

Also, perhaps someone can weigh in on this.... I know pads/rotors are included in the maintenance, does anyone know what their policy is with this? Do they just replace them regardless long as the sensor says so? Or is there a maximum frequency? Just something I've been curious about for a while.

After looking up the price of pads/rotors my mentality on this thread is quickly changing from the middle of the fence lol

Just to be clear, we do have until our factory warranty expires to pick this up, right? I heard rumblings of a 40k deadline in other extended warranty threads.

Just the turbo can be bought for $635 from Tischer BMW. Figure 8 hrs install time from a decent independant.

You have until 50k (I think) to pick up an extended warranty, but you only have 2-3 weeks to get this particular deal.

There is no guarantee what pricing will be next year let alone 4 years from now, but even if the pricing hasnt changed this GB will have expired.

Just wanted to let everyone know I spoke with Dan once yesterday and once today. He told me the Group Buy will be open at least through tax season so those receiving tax refunds can still take advantage of the deal. I believe this was mentioned in the email Pap send out.

I also asked if BMW Performance Parts were covered under the extended warranty as well. As expected, he said as long as they're BMW parts installed at a BMW dealership, they will be covered under the extended warranty as well. Not a big surprise, but still worth mentioning.

OK... I have until Thursday to decide.... The platinum price given to me is 3500.00..... and I think that is for 7/70.... What do i have to do to get it for 2850.00 ? And, do I have to pay upfront? I have 4 / 39,000 right now.... I am still not sure if I want to keep the car another two years, though

Well I got my warranty taken care of the other day. I e-mailed Dan a few times to iron out the details, then last week I checked with my SA to see when he would be in so I could get a key read printout from him. Last Friday I visited my dealership and the SA got my key read and handed me the printout, not trouble whatsoever. I went home, scanned it in, and filled out the credit card form from Dan. Sent those off and heard back from Dan a little while later that I was all set. The other day I received the paperwork from UPS, signed a copy and sent it back in the provided return envelope.

I don't know what issues people have had with Pacific BMW, but on this deal they seem willing to take care of us and I am most appreciative. Thanks again Papethova, you've done a great thing with this group buy.

NICE!!!

Im glad some people have been able to take advantage of the opportunity.

I met with Dan in person and he did seem like he was willing to cater to us as a group. Like I said he met more of the contingencies I had in place than any other dealership I contacted.

Out of curiosity, for those of you who have PURCHASED this offer, have you been going with warranty or are you picking up the maintenance package as well??
