Power problems with my 2011 BMW 135 6 speed

Left work today to find my car dead, luckily I work for a company that has a mechanic on deck and he provided me a quick jump start. Was driving home and turned on my street where my car completely died and suddenly stopped throwing me into my steering wheel. It power right back up and i was able to drive to my house. I put the car in neutral and the car electronics started acting crazy. Windshield wipers turned on and off, headlights turned on and off, weird electronic noises started sounding off and my car was just going crazy. Called a tow truck and was able to once again start my car by jumping it. Right now she is sitting overnight at the dealership and I haven't a clue about what the hell is wrong with it. Anyone have these problems before? I am hoping it is not significant electronic problems.

:)

Not that i am aware of. My service advisor told me i had no recalls due. Had the headliner fixed this weekend for a rattle problem and got it back monday night. Now this occurs tonight! Aggravating.

Not sure if the battery is at fault here but it is always worth investing in a battery charger like the CTEK ones. I think one of the BMW ones are rebranded CTEK. It not only keeps the battery charged up but it reconditions it to keep it in tip top condition.

I have the CTEK MXS 5.0 which I would recommend, but I'm sure there are others.

I believe this.. This can cause all kinds of crazy issues like you described. Also the JBE control module can do the same.

Anddd... It ended up just being the battery. First time in my life I have seen a battery for a car cause so much chaos. Pretty anti-climatic, sorry!

I had the same issue with my 2011 6mt. The second day I owned it, went to start it up and it went crazy. Battery replaced at dealer for free but I was freaking out for a day.
