SSK for n55

Does anyone know if the bmw performance ssk will fit the post 2011 (n55) cars? I want to get a ssk and that's the only one I can find, however everything related to it says it is for 2008-2010 n54's. Has anyone done this and it worked? If not are there any good alternatives?

Thanks

The BMWP SSK will not fit the N55 engined cars, as BMW modified the shift on the gearbox of the N55 135i (and the 1M) to have a slightly shorter shift than the N54 cars.

The OEM N55 shift is about mid-way between OEM N54 and a N54 with a SSK fitted.

Yeah that's what I thought but wasn't sure.... I'm hesitant about bms stuff....I like the jb4 but I haven't gone with them for anything else....i never want to be the first person to put something on my car. Also....I don't want it to sit any lower. If it was my m3 where the shifter was 3 feet high then yes, but this car's shifter height is perfect I think.

Ian did you buy just a couple of the parts and figure out a way to make them work?

Garage List
2008 BMW 128i  [10.00]
The shift rod from stock n54 should be a good ssk for n55. Esp since some one used a 128i ssk stick in the n55 last year or so

You only need the Performance shift lever, not the entire SSK(for a N54). The N55 has a different shifter parts. but the shift lever arm - will work and give you 85% the feel of a SSK with zero hassles.

You need to order... bmw p/n 25110434217

You should also replace #4 (the plastic shift lever bearing) and get a few of #6(clips) you will loose the old ones when you remove them! Also use some high temp MsO2 sv joint grease or the like on the new shift lever where it sits in that plastic bearing.

I wouldn't hesitate to try the BMS lever, their products are great quality.

It is one of the best mods I have done.
well i definitely dont want it to sit lower... I really like where it is right now. I wouldn't mind a little higher though I dont think. What does the cdv actually do? Like what is it's purpose in a regular car?

CDV? Why we talking CDV now? CDV is valve that restricts the clutch fluid to delay/slow clutch engagement. The result is indirect and delayed clutch feedback, together with a faster wearing clutch. CDV delete will resolve this.

The link you told me to look at....the guy talked about doing that and then it made it feel much better.
