HEAD UNIT
I have a question for everyone. Has anyone changed the head unit in their E82? I would like to remove the stock unit and exchange it for a double din, but I am worried about fitment and/or user function issues with the steering wheel. Any thoughts or pics is greatly appreciated.

I have done some research and I think this is an option for both of us: http://www.cartronix.com.au/C170 Apparently, it fits perfectly on an E81/E82/E88. Also all steering function and the likes works with this unit. I have no idea though if you need to keep the original head unit for service diagnostics. The only issue is (for me anyway) is I have to relocated my soft-top/heated seat buttons… I posted on here yesterday about it. http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showt...brio+head+unit Hope this helps..M |

This is really the only way to go in my opinion:
http://www.janus-design.net/english/...-din/index.php Was going to go that route myself after I bought my 135 a few months ago, but I found the H/K system to be quite reasonable and I would have had to rip it all out - just not possible to change the headunit only. |
