What audio system I have?
Guys,
I'm really sorry to talk about this again... But I really don't know what system I have... I bought this car used. I have a 08 plate, and the dealer document stating all the extras, says I have the professional audio system . But I can see the pro logic 7 screen where I can regulate all the Audio frequencies. But I only have an aux spot to put my iphone. I want to upgrade to usb, but first I need to know what system I have. Is there any way I can check in the car what system I have or by any software, instead of looking or asking dealer for parts in the car? Thank you for bothering. Kind regards, Socsd |

First off all, "08 plate" doesn't meAn anything if you're not from the UK, it's like saying your car is black.
Anyway, what audio system you have has nothing to do with USB/bluetooth/aux and that stuff. |

Hello and good morning to you.
My car is from 2008 . Basically all I wanted to know is, if there is any way that I can recognize from the car what system I have. The rest never mind. |

Since you have the Logic7-settings, well then you have the Logic7.
You can also get your cars equipment list by typing the last seven digits of your chassisnumber here: http://www.bmwarchiv.de/vin/bmw-vin-decoder.html |

As I said, what audio system you have, has nothing to do with whether you can retrofit USB or not.

You have to have at least radio professional (which you have). Other than that you need the MULF2 module, some cables and coding.
BTW, your sound system is Logic 7. |

You may also want to remember that there are simple ways to stream music via bluetooth to your car. Belkin and others make adapters that plug into the aux port to do exactly that. It's definitely not as integrated and thought through as a complete bimmer system but it's on the order of $50 and others report good results. If you want to link you phone this way for phone calls, you might want BMWs system which includes a microphone. If you mainly want to stream music, the aftermarket seems to be the way to go.

Thank you very much for the info! But the reason I want via usb, is that Bluetooth looses quality, and I really want to bring the best I can with what I have. And from my experience usb is far better than Bluetooth. |

It's only the music information and controls that goes through USB. The sound itself still goes through aux, which you already have.
To get sound through USB, you'll need combox, which again requires CIC iDrive.
