HELP PLEASE: Cracked Headlight
Somehow the part on the headlight that attaches to the frame on the inside by the cornering light is cracked on both sides of my car thus the innerside of the headlight is loose. Does anyone know if this is covered under warranty? If not does any know if I could just replace the bracket?

People tend to use a bonding agent in order to fix it quickly. Some type of plastic bond should work?
I wouldn't think it would be covered under warranty to warrant you a new headlight, but you can ask the dealer I am sure they can repair it.

Can't quite picture what the problem looks like, and I'm not near my car to check it out. But why wouldn't that be covered under warranty?

They assume that it broke due to a roadhazard...such as the crash over a pothole.
And as such deny a warranty claim. I've never heard of somebody getting BMW to agree to a headlight replacement due to a cracked seal |

Not really sure how to post a picture.
http://www.realoem.com/bmw/showparts...94&hg=63&fg=05 both part #10 and the piece under part#12 that connect to the frame are cracked as far as I can see. Not sure about the underside. Does anyone know if I can just replace these individual parts as opposed to getting a whole new headlight? |

I believe you can replace the #10 but the piece under #12 has no part number. Is it the connected piece that protrudes from actual headlight unit?

Yes it is the piece that is actually part of the housing for the headlight it connects the headlight to the frame on the inside by the top of the cornering bulb.

First pic is of the drivers side headlight clip closest to the turn signal. Second being the inside clip next to the cornering bulb. The last pic is of the clip on passengers side closest to the cornering bulb. Any ideas?

Replace the other piece and try to use some type of really good auto bonding material to form a hard bond between the broken piece that is connected to the housing unit.

Upon closer inspection, it seems like the hood alignment stoppers were not adjusted correctly either from the factory or by the dealerships end. Over repeated use of opening and closing the hood it seems the hood was slightly touching the headlight possibly causing it to crack the mounts every time someone slams the hood down. I know for a fact it definitely was not me nor my mechanic during interim oil changes as I sit there and watch. Is it possible that something like this would be covered under warranty? Is the dealership going to just say screw you it was road hazard and send me on my way?

Made an appointment with the dealership. Although I don't think anything will come out of it. I'm thinking I may have to come out of pocket on this ...On the plus side. Euro Xenon's and LS1's here I come ...Anyone know where to source a pair of LHD AHL xenons?
