JB4 / ecu dyno tuning in Perth?

Hi all,

I'm a m135i owner from Perth, trying to resist for as long as possible but thinking of adding an ECU mod sometime in the future. Most of the info I've read is about the JB4 so that's prob the most likely, but haven't researched the other options exhaustively yet.

Question for those in Perth running JB4 or otherwise, are any of the tuning workshops experienced in tuning these maps on the dyno at all? On the UK/US forums they seem to say that you can just look at the timing/boost logs yourself or even have them remotely adjusted, maybe I'm a bit old school but I feel a bit nervous leaving a tune from a generic map in Perths weather and different climate conditions!

If anyone has experience or recommendations of tuners I would love to hear them! Or be proved wrong about being able to do it yourself.

Cheers

You should post on the F20 forums as this is the E82/E88 forum. The tunes are different, I am sure the JB4 for F20 is still fairly limited compared to the E82 JB4. I remember my mate telling me about his F20 JB4 only having map 1 and no map 5 (auto tune map).

Hi,

Was posting here as I couldn't find an Australian sub forum within the F20 section. But yeah you're right. Was more after recommendations for tuners in Perth that can tune on the dyno rather than specific info regarding the N55 tune per se. Happy to hear from ppl in Perth with JB4 regardless of engine just to know if they go to anyone to have it tuned or just do it themselves / leave the standard maps alone.

Thanks for the replies

I know perth guys have used Ramp Auto in Malaga.

I think most guys just do the tune themselves or get workshop to install and don't bother dyno tuning.

for dyno runs to see your power gained I recommend Hyperdrive in Malaga. good luck
