Diff Bushings

I currently have the DEFIV Lockdown kit which consists of solid aluminium bushings as well as adding a fourth link. Pic to illustrate.

Combined with M3 subframe bushings and a wavetrac LSD I get a lot of noise both whining and clunks. Plus it hasn't completely cured axle tramp which was it's purpose, so I'm thinking the trade off in noise is not worth it for me.

Weighing up my other options and looking for opinions and experiences from others.

Some of the options:

-OE replacement.
Probably too soft, and what is the part number for the rear bushing?

My car has full solid bushings.

Diff bushings induce a lot of noise and you can experience different results based on the different combinations of bushings.

I suggest going back to OEM Diff bushings and instead change your M3 subframe bushings to solid aluminum subframe bushings. This will tighten the rear end significantly and not introduce too much noise and vibration.

I thought someone might suggest that, it's not a bad idea but I cbf changing subframe bushings again.
What solid bushings are you using?

Turner Motorsport solid aluminum. The simplest options is remove the solid diff bushings to cut the diff wine and vibration and just go OEM. But if you want to lock the rear end with minimal noise and vibration, solid subframing is the way to go.

Yes, but one of them is the front swaybar just laying on top of the subframe assembly.

Sorry to thread jack, but has anyone DIYed the solid aluminum subframe bushing? I'm interested in knowing whether all four of the Turner aluminum bushings install from the bottom up like the 135i bushings, or are they like the M3 bushings where the fronts install from the top down. The guy who answered the phone at Turner couldn't answer that question.

Looking at the picture above, it appears the delrin bushings install like the M3 bushings.

Are those firmer than the M3 ones?
If I was going to switch subframe bushings again I would probably do the solid ones and go back to stock diff bushings as suggested above.

I'm more interested to see if anyone has experience with diff bushings that are somewhere between solid ones and the stock ones in terms of frimness.

I believe its 3 bushings? 2 small and a big one, haven't had a good look as I'm still waiting for my diff to arrive.

Luke. I am running Whiteline ones at the moment, they seem to be fine. Firmer than stock and I haven't noticed any dramatic increase in noise.

I got the subframe and diff bushes changed by Josh.

I would say maybe softer than m3 because people complain about them less, esp with Diff lockdowns

You may be better off swappign Diff busheing to something Poly, sae:
Powerflex, and Powerflex Black
Nolathane/prothane/whiteline( same brand, nolathane cheapest)
Strongflex.eu ( polish & Cheap)
SuperPro - Australian Powerflex style brand - lots of kits, simmilar price

Thanks, I think I am going to give whiteline diff bushings and switching to the heavier Motul 75w-140 a try.
