Jonathan Spira does it again!
Those of you who receive Roundel should be looking for Jonathan's latest article in the June 2006 edition. A very good piece on run flat technology, the future thereof, and the controversy, etc. A very good read!!
Jonathan, you've done it again my friend! My letter of praise to Roundel is of course, forthcoming.

You are both too kind. All I can say is ,, danke schön`` as I sit here and try to finish two articles for the August issue.

nice article, very imformative. i noticed that you tested the bridgestone blizzak rft lm-22s fitted on seventeen-inch wheels. Where did you get them? I noticed that the tirerack does not stock them. how much were they? thanks.

Excellent article!!!
You can probably count me in the 0.0005% of all BMW owners who have started with run flats, went to non-RF tires, and have switched back to RF's... While I thoroughly enjoyed having my Pirelli Pzero AS tires on, the idea of a flat scared me... especially with the many long distance road tripping I do... So Im back to RF's... (and also looking for a good winter tire setup) |

I just read the article and agree with many of the points mentioned. I am in the similar position of having 18 inch wheels and RFT's and a 2nd set of 17 inch wheels with winter RFT's.
I will admit that RFT's are more expensive and may ride slightly harder than nonRFT's, but I don't plan on going back to regular tires unless there is no other option. The benefits greatly outweigh the negatives for my particular situation.

Jonathan, I'm really excited that you used my picture of the low tire pressure warning on the nav screen that I sent to you, as well as putting my story in the magazine. You really have some great and interesting articles. The magazine alone is worth the BMWCCA membership. Keep up the great work!
