I'll let you know if the BMW dealership I Perth ever responds.

They couldn't comprehend my request for quotes on a bunch of BMWP parts, so I provided part numbers. Haven't heard back...

You will get raped so badly in the price...

I get mine from Sean Bell at Mornington BMW their prices are pretty competitive.

eg. BMW Performance Hand Brake $175 shipped from Sean and $595 from Auto Classic

Are the E87 130i, E82 135i and E82 128i SSK's cross compatible?

I've had a look at realoem and the part numbers for each kit are nearly identical (25110444660 for E87 kit, 25110444661 for the E82 135i kit and 25110444655 for the E82 128i kit). The three kits have slightly different part numbers for the shift levers and then the 135i kit also includes the shifting arm or selector rod as part of the kit.

Does each model have a different gearbox? I wouldn't have thought so but then why the different parts?

I ask because Tischer has a pretty good deal on the E82 SSK's atm...

Anybody have any idea?

Realoem 130i SSK
Realoem 135i SSK
Realoem 128i SSK

Cheers

I got a quote from sean bell while back not too bad at $300 and warranty.

BMW Performance Shift Throw Reduction, (Does this kit include the gaiter and shift knob? I prefer the stock gaiter and shift knob so if there's a kit without this that would be my preference.) $300inc GST (or $475inc GST installed). Stock is available in Australia. This kit does include the gaiter and the knob, but doesn’t have to be installed with the kit. There is not a kit available without.

You can install the kit and simply sell the performance gaitor and knob.

really? I bought one for my 130i from bmmini like only 2 months ago. I am assuming you mean www.bmminiparts.com

here is the link for it mate:
http://www.bmminiparts.com/PartDetai...8-C08A8C9A7DF4

I only got the shifter, shift lever bearing and a few securing clips. Cost me like under 100 pounds.

hope this helps
Ken

Checkout my post #25 (on page two) for the SSK part numbers... (actually you might also want to start at my first post in that thread...)

yeah i inquired about it and got emailed back they can't sell.

that looks pretty legit though, will try and order, for that price hells yes! thanks

though before ordering, is there another 3rd party SSK that might be better at all?

ED: is that the full kit too, all the clips, everthing?.. i'm guessing 'gaitor' means boot, judging by google images lol

i love the stock knob, but it's really worn now around the top of the leather (really really ugly looking), so will definitely use the new one, all nice and aluminium

what about UUC shifter... rogue engineering?

http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/html_pr...uucshifter.htm
http://www.ca-at.co.uk/variants-Y2Fy...9MTMxNg==.html

BMWP kinda cool for the guarantee it fits and stuff, but OEM isn't always the best?

I had a UUC Evo3 ssk in my old e30 and it was awesome, that and their DSSR (double shear selector rod). Practically eliminated play and stayed that way. I'd be inclined to go that way again for the non-wearing parts. I didn't search exhaustively but they didn't specifically have an 'E87 130i' Evo3 kit on their site... Does it exist?

yeah it does, 1series 6spd manual at least (maybe in other words) i remember finding it a while back.

http://store.uucmotorwerks.com/share...t=products.asp

bam

128i one would fit perfectly
but... being it's $500USD inc the DSSR and doesn't come with a knob and boot... is it worth twice the price of the BMWP one?
