Tyre Storage

I need a solution to store my wheels/tyres when they are not in use.

What does everyone think of these? http://www.ecstuning.com/News/WheelT...aign=WheelTree

Ideally I'd like to have a wall rack but don't have the space. Seems like good value.

Looks like a good idea Vinney. The "tire carcass stress caused when wheels are leaned against a wall for extended periods" made me laugh though.

I normally stack them up like that anyway and put a piece of cardboard/foam in between the wheel/tyre. Definitely don't sit them upright for long period of time.

Looks good, but if it where an ingenious design, they would have put castor wheels on the base of the tree for easy moving

I'm thinking about ordering a couple of these to see how they go. Price seems reasonable. Does anyone know of anything else out there that will do the job though?

What is shipping cost like? I wouldn't mind getting a set myself, I have got stacks of tyres/wheel in the garage...

Not sure Rey but I'll let you know when I find out.

Just finished changing my wheels/tyres for track day tomorrow, these racks would really come in handy!

Thanks mate - though if they had wheels as well it would be awesome!

BTW did you change to your wheel studs? any pics?

Yes changed them a while ago. I haven't got any decent close up pics but I'll try remember to take some.

Looks like a watse of money if you are going to leave it on the floor.

If there was a way you could connect an eye bolt to it and hang it from your garage ceiling via a pully then you would be saving space.

i have mine stacked on a mezzanine floor in the garage. its a little difficult to get them up there but i dont change them over that often.

Wrap them in giant glad rubbish bags, then store them off the floor in a cool shaded area.

Layer a foam in between each tyre and you are good to go.

Thanks for the tips guys but I'll be using/changing them from time to time so they need to be easily accessible.

Storing Tyres

If you want to cover them to keep dust, cobwebs etc from getting all over them, a $10 kettle BBQ cover from Bunnings is the perfect fit for a 4 high stack and looks nice and tidy.
