Stripes and BMW Perf. grille inserts installed
Finally dropped some quid on cosmetic mods. I had the following installed, which is a huge departure for me, as I usually do the mechanical stuff first. But since I run out of road before I run out of throttle, I guess I can hold off on the ECU upgrade for a little while.
- 35% tint all around - Body stripes - BMW Performance grille inserts I really like how it looks now; sorta pops out, you know? Especially since I got the snow wheels off and my 18's back on. Lots of compliments from all sorts of people, and well worth the investment. |

I was at Rusnak BMW in Westlake (I 'have' to visit dealerships for work.... boohooo) and saw an insane-looking 135i with 'shoulder' stripes from the BMW performance catalog.... amazing looking.... space grey car with white lines.... it really made the body-sculpt 'pop'

I got it done at Mitek Autobody in Kitchener, Ontario, Canada. They just built the stripes themselves after I showed them some mockups of what I wanted to do. Cost was about $350 for parts and labour.

Props for originality but I would suggest applying the "one-third/two-thirds rule" to the placement of the stripe on the hood rather than line it up with the headlight, (doing so has put it too close to centreline / near the hood emblem.... ok if you had "skunk stripes" but not so good for a single side of the hood).
(Btw, If you really like the look of "single offset" striping and want to see the "one-third/two-thirds" placement, check out modded miatas and minis for ideas.) Still, it makes your 1 stand out and is easy as anything to take off when you are bored of it or want to do a version 2.0. And glad to see you don't have overly narrow stripes, a common mistake I see on cars. Enjoy! |

Props for doing what you want, but I'm not feeling it.
