128i vert

I\'m storing the car tomorrow and the car is a little dirty...

Is it ok to take it through a touchless car wash once? I\'ve never done this but need to clean it now before I put the cover on. Thanks

I take mine through a Hydro-Clean wash (that uses chamois/lambswool) almost every week. Nothing wrong with the touchless washes as long as they get the car clean. Never had a problem with either.

A lot of perfectionists don't like car-washes because they recycle water, cause swirl marks etc. Personally during winter I use car washes and never had a problem with any of that. My car, as beautiful as it is, is a car. I use it. It's not going to look perfect.

I prefer to wash by hand, but have used touchless a few times during winter out of necessity. No problem (except for C- wash job), and the sound in a softop is very cool.

But Hey! Why are you putting it away for the winter? We put snow tires on ours and it drives great in the snow, and we had a wicked one last year in New England! I was shocked how well the snow tires worked in a rear wheel drive car.

CarCzar is right on. With the proper shoes it's good to go on most snow days.

And there's nothing quite like driving with the top down on a cold-but-sunny day. :-)

My drop-the-top line when I lived in Atlanta was 50 degrees, or 55 for highway. But I know people whose tolerance is far, FAR lower.....
