vinyl tape flag

I am considering a DIY tri-color flag on a diffuser. My question is: Is there a goto vinyl tape (or product) I can use? I have looked at the 3com site and found colored tapes in various widths and various use designations (including automotive). I was considering something like the photo, or on the lower right hand corner of the diffuser, and then putting a light coating of wax to attempt to seal it.

Having used them extensively, I would suggest 3M VHB. I use it to attach heavy steel parts, but it's primarily used for aircraft purposes. There are some vendors out there that provide it in different colors.. Search for what you need.

Just a side thought.. Once you put it on, it's never coming off. Ever...

And don't bother waxing it.. It's going to outlast your car. That and please keep it under 500 knots or you could see some peeling on the edges...

Thanks for the replies. I saw some of the commercially available products but think they were too wide for my purpose. I trust my self doing "end" cuts ... but do not feel I could do a decent lengthwise cut.

I am currently de-badged, so I was thinking a little accent that gives a nod to race stripes and German colors would not be too cheesy (if done well) ...

Your only talking 2'' or so in length. Just use a credit card as a straight edge and a razor blade if need be. Over lap each color just a tad in the event they shrink alittle so your CF doesn't show between them..
