need help with mate's E88 120i

Can anyone tell me what function this serves? It's under the passenger seat (left hand side of car if you're looking at this from the USA) and seems to have swallowed a childs toy that is rattling around.

Umm, I would think that is the air cond/heater outlet for the back seat dude....have u never looked under a seat in any car before?

my brother had his iphone swallowed by the same outlets in his e46, it had to go into get pulled aparet to retrieve it

As above, it's the vents for the aiircon/heating.

When the AC or heat is selected on "foot mode" it also does it in the rear through those outlets.

If I knew I wouldn't have asked and I don't generally hang out under the seat of my friends cars, but thanks for the info all the same. My E82 doesn't have this.
