Lost / Stolen Toe Eye Covers?
So some jerk stole my front tow hook (eye?) cover while I was parked in a parking lot, eating dinner. It was there when I parked, then poof, gone within the hour.
Has this happened to you? I'm looking to replace it, but nobody seems to sell pre-painted ones anywhere. Debating just buying a handful in bulk, bringing them to get painted in the various 1er stock colors, and having them available for sale. Or has anyone found someone selling them pre-painted? |

Everyone I've ever heard of on this forum had to get them painted.

You can try Schmeidmanns. They offer a paint service for parts online. No returns and coming from Denmark however.

Had this happen a few years back - both front and rear stolen. Bought 2 fronts and 2 rears from getbmwparts dot com (about $12 each or thereabouts), brought to body shop, where they used sprayout sheets to match exactly to the bumpers, and had all 4 painted. Replaced the 2 stolen ones and have 2 others in the glovebox in case it happens again.

I bought a replacement and stuck it in unpainted. I can't say I've noticed it since, but if it doesn't fall out or get stolen again I may paint it this summer.

You can get touch up paint in BMW matched colors in small spray cans from several online sources. I bought a small can of base and a small can of clear and was able to make a pretty perfect match. I used the one below, but there are several available suppliers.

If it's not pre-painted, maybe you could do something like put motorsport stripes on 'em......?
