The video above is the best example of a rear bearing diy. For what's involved, this is one repair I'd suggest getting taken care of by a professional.
My rear passenger bearing went out a few months ago. By "went out", I mean a bearing shattered after making a ticking noise for a bit. Eventually, I got some loud roaring that was indicative of the hub heating up from the destroyed assembly. If the hub starts getting really loud, drive it to the shop and get it fixed. You can seriously damage your hub if you keep it up. btw, the repair was around $380 w/parts. |

Hi: Today I dismantled everything. Tomorrow I will reinstall. I couldn't get one bolt off the axle, so I dismantled the whole left rear, and smashed the bearing out. Does anyone have the torque settings for the various bolts back there?
