Canadian 1Ms TPMS Question
Dear Canadian 1M owners. I just bought a Canadian 1M and it doesn't have Tire Pressure Monitors, just plain rubber valves. I got a Tire Warning and thought maybe the owner removed them but I noticed a RESET decal in the door with the tire symbol that the US version did not have. Also the manual has instructions for both systems. The rotational old style flat sensors and the Tire Pressure Monitors that the US version had. What do you guys have?

My (formerly from Toronto) 1M does not have the sensors in the tires. I believe that this system, which is the norm in the USA, is not required in Canada. Most of the world does not require the TPMS sensors in the tires, the US is an outlier in that regard.
Don't know what your particular problem is in this case but I would consider myself fortunate to not be burdened with the tire sensors, which in my experience malfunction more often than they provide useful information, and are a nuisance every time you change tires, for any reason. |

My business partner's Audi has had TWO flat tires while I was a passenger in it, at different times. Neither time did the indication come on indicating that there was a tire problem, in spite of the installed TPMS sensors, rather the car started to just feel like it had a flat and in fact it did. |

Could be your car is a stripper. I have tire sensors in all my tires and I had received warnings when the pressure was too low. Once it is fixed, I could reset and this is all done on the monitor. Mine is fully loaded with nav. |

Exactly. Canadian 1ers don't have sensors, uses wheel speed from the ABS sensors.
BUT! You must reset the system every time you change tires, or adjust the tire pressure. If you have iDrive, it is in the Vehicle Information menu, or you can program a radio button to do it. |
