Smile 1M-Newest accent mods!

So I had this great idea and with the help from Chris@DTMrack it came to fruition.

I am very careful with every mod I make. I always want my 1M to look as sick as possible but in a tasteful way... along the lines of stuff BMW themselves would do.

I originally had the iCarbon Carbon fiber seatbacks which were always SO nice to look at. But the 1M being a full fledged alcantara...

So the interior on the 1M is amazing. But with the help from Chris these two little accents made it that much nicer

Chris explained to me that the 1M has two alcantara interior colors, Jet Black and Charcoal. Only the boot and e-brake are in Jet Black so I went with Charcoal.

Without further blabbering:

I like the seat backs, but why didn't you match the iDrive piece with the color of the shift boot? They are next to each other and it looks a bit weird.

The HDR from the iPhone makes it look VERY different, but in real life it's not that big. However, the reason why I went charcoal was because the trim was charcoal. I thought I'd follow the same line.

Not bad, however, I think the seatbacks are a waste of alcantara considering they are never visible unless a rear passenger is getting in/out or you're vacuuming the rear mats. That's like putting tire shine on the inside of the tires.

Would have rather seen you tackle the headliner with Alcantara. Good job though.

I understand what you mean. But I think a more appropriate analogy would be cleaning your wheels in the interior barrel, since they are still visible. I like to be thorough

I might, and I thought about it.

I really think that if BMW didn't have any thoughts on cost production they would have made the seatbacks in alcantara, as well as the little trim piece.

Love the Clockwork Orange you have done to date but imo these alcantara mods and the cup holder may not fit in the CO theme of the car. As MM said, it's definitely different

Agree. For those with kids, the easily washable plastic is a much better idea.

Thanks for the praises

You think? I thought since the full interior was alcantara this would be a nice touch (it's really the iDrive though, not the cupholder)... Do you think the cf was a better touch?

I was actually referring to the cupholder itself

imo, the BMW Performance Seat (mod with orange stitching) would be a better fit for your Clockwork Orange project... more functional than just matching looks, albeit the Performance Seat is a great looker!

Oh goodness...OF COURSE! I AGREE 100%!

Those will come in the future for sure. After all I've spent, they are a little pricey right now, especially with Christmas coming up!

You know what, what you did looks fantastic. Don't worry about what some are saying. I've found more than anything over the years people in general are resistant to change. Its very hard to wrap our heads around something different once we've become accustomed to 'the way it is'. This is often the case when car companies do a design refresh.

I digress, but your changes definitely make the car uniquely yours and everything looks tastefull with factory level fit and finish. Well done!

Now please do the headliner so I can copy

I tried to photoshop the color to see how it would look with the alcantara matching the boot.

Very creative. Where did you have the work done? Was it DIY?
