Ya, I've been looking at some other peoples delivery schedules and that looks about right for when it should be near the PC.

Unfortunately there's no satellite coverage while the ship is in the middle of the Atlantic. The next update should come sometime this weekend - as Desert Bimmer mentioned - when the Hojin hits the Canal.

I'm with ya guys! It's soooo nerve-racking waiting for our cars to get to the States. I know once it gets into the Canal region I'll be even more excited knowing it's on its way up the coastline to Cali. Patience really is a virtue!

The wait for the Hojin continues!

As we all approach delivery, any of you guys a little worried about your orders and whether you'll like the color combo/options you picked? Perhaps I'm the only jackass who feels like this

I am notoriously non-committal and always re-think the choices I make when I'm making a big ticket purchase. I'm most concerned about 1) whether I'll be happy with titanium silver (there are tons of silver cars on the road), and 2) how I'm going to do with the steptronic; I've been driving manuals for 13 years (including two bimmers), so this is a big change for me! Yes, I decided on the step for more flexibility. Before I placed my order, I drove both the manual and the steptronic and told myself that unless I was completely "wowed" by the manual, that I would get the steptronic. Maybe it was purely psychological, but I ended up placing the order for the steptronic that day.

For anyone who has traded up cars, you know that familiar feeling of dropping off one car and driving home in a newer, nicer car. I hope I feel that way when I drop off my end of lease '03 325i with ZPP, ZSP, and Manual and drive home in the new step 330i.

Fingers crossed!

You'll be fine man. In all honesty, when I was choosing a color...the last one I was looking at was silver. However, once I saw it on the E90 I was really impressed. It's a very nice shade of silver and compliments the lines of the car nicely. I'd put it higher up on my list of colors to choose from, not to mention maintenance should be minimal.

I’m a little worried too, but just a little. The color combination is what’s worrying me. I got an Arctic with Terra. I’ve never seen this combination on the road. I’ve only seen it in pictures hopefully it’s as nice as I think. Either way it’s a BMW and I’m exited to get my hands on it.

Ahhh. It's so nice to find these forums. I'm new to the forum but I like what I see. I did ED back in Late April, drove it around for 2 weeks from Germany to Austria, Italy, Switzerland and back to Germany. Dropped it off at Harms on May 2nd and have been trying to track it since then. I went straight to the shipper to find out it's on the HOJIN!! AMEN because I'm dying here. My busted old cars just don't compare anymore.

I was a little nervous about the Titanium silver because of its popularity too, but it really looks beautiful on our car. It's definitely a top 3 color selection for the body style. I'm dying, I'm really freakin dying here. I love the maps. Keep em coming

I hope. I'm a bit more concerned about the steptronic than the color. I think once I take that first drive I'll be fine.

MikeyMike, what color did you order?

I'm not a huge fan of Arctic, but it's not a bad color at all with some tints. The Terra is nice and should pop on an exterior color like that. I was actually debating on the Terra quite a bit, but it was a little too reddish in pictures and I never got a chance to see it in person.

MikeyMike, what color did you order?

You'll be fine. I went with the 6mt....but I was extremely impressed with the auto tranny...it's definitely not the traditional "slush box" on other cars. And if you decide you made a mistake, just trade it in for the 335i 6mt

I ended up going really conservative. Jet Black on Black leather with a 6mt. I decided to go with the aluminum cuz I felt it was more sporty than wood and matched the idrive knob, shifter, and aluminum pedals nicely.

Tick tock....tick tock...

Something to get our minds off the Hoijin's voyage...lol

Well I chose Sparkling Graphite. As is silver, I know it's a fairly popular color choice but I've seen it in person many times and I really like it a lot. Especially when the windows are tinted and you add some nice shiny aftermarket (BBS) rims to it. The OEM rims that come with the sports package are ok but I definitely want my Bimmer to POP and WOW!

As for the Steptronic...well, I too have driven mostly manuals all my life until I met the Bimmer. I mean the Steptronic for me was an incredible experience that I didn't want to end with the test drive...so I test drove it several more time just to make sure and I chose it--no regrets!

I guess the bottom line is no matter what colors we choose or if we got the manual versus the steptronic...it simply boils down to user preference...or the old addage "beauty is in the eye of the beholder"

Cheers mates!

Silly question...

Kinda off the topic a bit but I had a silly question...

Do people name their bimmers? I mean like when we have a boat or ship we give them a name...do we also name our bimmers? And if so, are they female or male names? LOL Don't ask me why....it just popped into my head..LOL

My wife named her WRX. I am not the naming type, so I probably won't name my bimmer. For reference, she hasn't named her BMW R1100R, and doesn't plan to.

I'd name a boat, or a bomber, but that's about it.

As I said in another post, I was 100% sold on a Terra interior at first sight. From there, I let my wife basically pick the exterior. Luckilly my dealership had every single E90 color in stock, and I got to see them all in a variety of lighting and weather conditions. (From 4-5:30pm during the summer we get direct sun, clouds, thunderstorms, diffuse light, then a clear sunset almost every day) I got to see every color after a "dirty" rain.

Based on that, my wife veto'd a few colors (with good reason) and we wound up with my current combo.

As to transmissions/engines, to be honest, I didn't think an E46 325xi w/ STEP was that bad... still would have been a fun car. The ones I drove were a e90 330xi 6mt, e90 325xi 6mt, e46 325xi step, e46 325xi 6mt and an e60 525i 6mt. All of them are way better than what I have now, but I figured "what the hey" given how much it's already costing, and the fact that it's my first new car ever.
