I want one! :-)

My dad owns a 1M Coupe and ordered his polo shirt yesterday!
We both dual drive the car in a hillclimb championship so it would be nice if i could have one as well
The asking BMW nicely approach failed so if anyone owns one and won't be purchasing a shirt can i use your details?

I understand this is a massive long shot but fingers crossed :-)

I forwarded the link to this thread to 2 friends that own 1M's, and they both replied within a minute saying that they were going to buy it immediately.

I would do the exact same thing, and instead of the name I would put the VIN of the car.

Wish you were my son, since I wouldn't spend that much of my own money on this

I think £72 is quite a lot of money for this and I don't think I would pay that. Having said that it is a very nice polo and is a nice touch for what will be a long-term car for me.

So my wife has provided me with a solution - she is buying it for me for Christmas! RESULT!

What sizes are people choosing?
Hope my analysis helps.

Here is what I measured on my t-shirts and photos for comparison.

My suit size in US is 38R (38 inches or 96.5cm).

Adidas soccer jersey (white):
UK size 38/40, France/Italy size 3
armpit to armpit: 56cm
rear collar to lower hem: 77cm (73cm if you ignore the "beaver tail flap at the rear)

US mediums unwashed brand-new Hanes (gray):
armpit to armpit: 50cm
rear collar to lower hem: 70cm

"Asian fit" Puma t-shirt from Hong Kong (black):
HK size medium
armpit to armpit: 46cm
rear collar to lower hem: 65cm

I wear the gray t-shirts every day. I have a big bag full of them and when one dies, another takes its place. I don't wear that Puma anymore because it's just too snug.

By my measurements, while I am a "M" in the US, I would be an "S" in in their measurements. This shirt also looks like it has sleeves that are slightly longer than the standard US medium that I used as a comparison, so I'm guessing that while the chest circumference will be as comfortable as my US M, the arm length will be such that they won't ride up when I reach forward.

I am torn between getting a S and an M at this point.

I am also considering the materials used. The white shirt is 100% nylon, while the others are 100% cotton. This shirt is a 50/50 blend. I suspect that it will stretch a little bit with some wear, but not by much.

As for the inscription, it will probably be my first initial, last name, and 263/740.

Yeah, not billig by any stretch of the imagination but I ordered anyway a couple of days ago.

Only problem is I hope nobody decides to mug me just for the shirt.

Oh, and I went with the following:

USA 595 of 740

Not trying to rain on all of your parades but this is pretty lame...BMW easily could have made this free as a thank you gift. Pretty cheap on their part. I mean heck, I get free stuff from Maker's Mark all the time just for joining their Ambassador program...which is also free.

Speaking of BMW being cheap, I have a friend who buys Mercedes and they are always giving him stuff....golf balls (nice ones), windbreakers, etc. BMW? Nada. Hell, even the key chain that comes with BMW's lately is pathetically cheap looking. It makes a person question where else they pinch pennies.

Appreciate your input. I decided to go with the large size which is only a bit bigger than my Welt shirt based on the provided measurements. Maybe European sizes are gradually getting larger to reflect the growing waist lines of people throughout the developed world.

Decided to inscribe "PYRAT 1M" in accordance with the inspirational rum.

Too funny. I went with "The Pyrat".

Ive been away from the forum way too long. I saw this shirt and said 'what the hell'. Bought the shirt and it inspired me to post.

This may be a silly question, but has anyone taken a photo to a local shop and see what they'd charge?

How did you US people pay for the order? I went through the process and was then taken to a paypal site where I could pay as a guest, but it only seemed to want UK addresses. Do I need to create a paypal account to order this thing?
