Flash Drive

Can I use a Flash Drive, with music, in a 2012 135i? Or can I only use an iPod?

I've plugged a flash drive full of mp3's into the USB slot of my 2012 128i and it works just fine.

Totally works, I have a 128GB drive full of MP3's permanently plugged in.

I did have to format it to FAT32 though, but that may or not apply to you. Mine was NTFS prior to using it int he car and that didn't work. A brand new drive may already be there. If you can't get yours to work give, that a try.

I keep a USB drive, loaded with music, plugged in 24/7. Formatted to FAT32.

I will reformat the Flash Drive to FAT32 and try again. Thanks to all for your comments.

I used a small free program "FAT32 Converter". It worked, where the standard Windows method did not.

If you can't make it go through other means, you could give this a try next, PM me your email address and I'll zip it and send it to you.

Thank you for your comment and assistance. I used the Apple Disk Utility program to reformat to FAT32, copied music and it works great.
