emergency brake issue
Hi,
Has anyone had there emergency brake squeaking or lock up while backing up? My driveway is a bit slanted down so i usualy just let the car roll down the driveway. Well I took the emergency brake off and nothing the car stayed put. I put in reverse gave a little push then back to nutreul to let it roll and the car stopped. Finally just used reverese to get down my driveway. any ideas??

Your car stick shift?
Suspect your emergency brake is fine. bet you are encountering the automatic brake feature of the car, the 2 second braking it appies automatically on a hill. Idea is that it will hold the car for 2 seconds with light braking on hills to give you time to engage the clutch. |

Yea its standard but I am pretty sure its not the hill hold. As i never had it in gear when i took the emergency brake off. I have done it many times before and it always worked. Just recently it has been sticking.
