AUX jack buzzing. HELP!!

Coming from a jaguar XF supercharged which had $5000 Bowers & Wilkins(one of the greatest) sound systems, I'm use to having higher sound standards and not here any buzzing when i used my ipod.

But after i got my 2011 135i started hearing buzzing, and can simply not stand it. I have tried to turn my pods volume which only stopped the distortion, but the buzzing is still there, i even turned the aux volume down in the menu and nothing.

I downloaded songs onto the car and every thing was fine, but it is very inconvenient scrolling through songs. I would much rather be able to use my ipod.

Please HELP!

My first guess is a loose ground on the Aux jack or even a worn/dirty jack. What happens if you pull the plug out slightly or wiggle it around? I'm guessing you tried another cable from the iPod to Aux jack.

One other thing: you running the iPod from the internal battery or running it off car juice? You could have a ground loop causing the hum if you're running it off the cars power and/or USB power.

Sounds like a grounding issue where the jack isn't making a full connection. Take it to the dealer if you can, otherwise use some compressed air and blow out the aux jack.

If that doesn't fix it, try a different device and see if you have better luck.

Are you using 3.5mm to 3.5mm or 3.5 to LOD the former is rubbish compared with the latter and try a good spray of switch cleaner followed buy a light smear of Vasaline.

My SUV aux jack does this because the aftermarket wire is not shielded. The SUV radio had an aux function but the car had no jack. I bought a plug and play solution but they used bad wire. It doesn't always bug me but sometimes it does. I would really bug me if my bimmer did it, however.

Long way to say I would be worried about your wire.

I seem to be having this problem. I do not have the iDrive system so AUX is the only way for me to listen to my iPod. However the AUX cord that I've been using for the last couple of years seems to be nearing its end because of it constantly being accidently pulled and tugged to the sides of the input. Long story short my AUX cord now only plays my music to the speakers on the right with complete silence on the ones on the left. I tried using a different AUX cable and both sides began to work, unfortunately, the quality is not as clear. Don't really think it's the AUX cables though, they are both Monster brand, pretty high quality cables if you ask me.

Hopefully that explains what I am experiencing, do you actually think a can of dust remover for like keyboards will solve this problem?

Also I know nothing about electrical and audio related stuff so I'm sorry if I sound ignorant.
