A "touch" smaller, but remember, the bigger the exterior accessories, the increased drag.

From the C230 coupe to the 135, you must be going crazy with driving joy, wow!

They're a little small, but I've found that once you get used to them and get them adjusted properly, they're fine.

My E class has much bigger mirrors, however 1 mirrors are good enough. More important, 1 has folding and reverse parking tint down. MB doesn't provide these features for US.

I don't understand why manufacturers don't use convex surfaces for the mirrors. It would totally improve your field of view.

Personally, I prefer an undistorted view even if the mirrors are a bit on the small side versus a convex mirror. Once adjusted they are just fine and this is particularly important in a vert since there is a major blind spot at the rear quarter.

I agree, I prefer an undistorted view too. What I had in mind was possibly having half the mirror flat and the outer part curved slightly. Just to increase visibility an extra 10 degrees or so. Couple that with a similar design on the rear view mirror and you have no blind spots.

With proper adjustments there are no blind spots in the 1er. I remember when I would switch between my m3 and dodge ram 1500. I always felt like I was about to die for the first 5 minutes.

The 135i mirrors are small. You have to adjust them outward more than normal to reduce blind spots to the sides.

I adjust them so that the inside corner of the mirror clips the arch of the car. I fiddled with it for an hour in my drivway after first getting the car to set them up right. Those wing mirrors are fine, I have a vert and its no big deal, I dont have a blindspot with the top up now so its all good.

yes, they are very small - it was striking to me coming from my E30 which has decently sized mirrors.

The issue isnt really the length, it is the ovoid shape of the mirrors, as compared to a square glass.

Too bad they don't do like the saab and have a wide angle portion in the outer section - it would probably expand field of view a bit.

I think it might be due to DOT regulation or something. I know I bought european wide angle side glass for my former saab viggen.
