RyanDavies & bNks334 - Thanks for the quick reply! Totally makes sense now. I'm assuming using NCS or INPA will do the trick?

I used NCSDummy/Expert. Once you have those tools setup on a laptop or something the coding itself takes seconds. I used a virtual machine (slower than a regular install) which comes pre-loaded with everything you'll ever need and can be run on any platform: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1220039

See this thread here for the coding options: http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1216642

Kyle, your too inspiring.

After thinking about it for 2 years, another STX car begins. have some AST 4100's and HPAutosport bits coming in for my 128. hopefully a diff and some other bits over the winter, and we'll apply what we've learned from the 135 FS car. will be campaigning it in BMWCCA next year and ready for SCCA in 2018.

My coach and co-driver is all in; he says "the Toybaru twins overtook the e36 as the STX go-to car. if RyanDavies can get as light as 2900lb in a STX 128, the we can use torque make STX a BMW class again."

Congrats!

Davies is on the juice. I don't know if 2900 is possible.

However I'm very very close.

I'll see you in Grid next year

I'm not gonna make it there, I was merely demonstrating how it was *possible*. In the big scheme of things, the difference between 2925 and 2900 is very little.

That said, it would be VERY bad for the sport if STX became a class of 128s. Having gone down this road, and Kyle too, we constantly joke about "shoulda bought a twin". They cost 1/3 in prep what our cars do, with a hell of a lot less quirkiness. I absolutely love the 128, but I don't think anyone who knows either of us would tell someone it's a good idea to build one instead of a twin, if you want to not pull all your hair out.

Kyle, I can't remember - did you end up with the Ferodo DS2500s after the HP+ pads you were running before?

Thanks,
Mark

I like the Ferodos a lot, my favorite pad. I might end up switching to some less aggressive pads up front to test, simply because ice mode is pretty prevalent on my local (horrible, sealed asphalt) site. I don't think I've ever gotten it anywhere else, but it happens maybe once out of every ten runs locally, and definitely reduces confidence under braking *all* the time.
