The front windshield is designed to be stronger than the back. The front is what gets hit the most with road debris, wind, etc. Its the 1 of the 2 windshields that is there to protect the driver's life during the car's primary function, moving forward.


That was definitely a badass storm. Sucks that the car was messed up, but that could have easily been you. Your car did exactly what it was supposed to do, protect the occupants inside. Cars can be replaced, lives cant (I've seen people seriously injured and killed by hail stones). However the back window didnt do much to protect anyone if they were in the backseat. You wonder if it would be worth it to make the rear windshield as strong as the front, or if stuff like this is one of those freak occurances that its not enough to change things.

Not sure exactly there is ten pages of print outs from the shop of everything they did. But they did say that it was prob going to be full body replacement.

i had a similar experience in Perth Australia. i was in the office when a freak hailstorm started and my corolla got absolutely hammered the hail was not soft ball size but golfball size and lot of them! insurance wrote it off and payed me out.



but thats how i became a bmw owner
