Broken intake manifold vacuum nipple-NEED HELP
So I was installing my ER charge pipe/HKS BOV combo and sure enough, I broke the plastic nipple on the intake manifold for the vacuum line.
I Was going to buy a brass npt nipple and tap it into manifold. A while back I came across a thread with a picture of someones npt fitting setup but I can't find it again. My question are, 1) what size fitting do I need and 2)do I tap the existing hole for the new brass fitting? The location of the existing hole seems a little flimsy to tap the new brass fitting. I'd lean towards tapping the existing hole, rather than attempting to plug it w JB weld or some type of relatively high-temp sealant. *Believe* it's a 1/4 or 3/8 NPT but don't quote me on that.
Alternatively, you could buy a vacuum block and route all vac lines through it. New manifold is an expensive way to do it, but obviously would work and would preserve your warranty.

I'm going to see if I can pick up a used intake mani first, just for the peace of mind. My turbo rattle has come back in the past 2 weeks and with my luck, a modded intake mani will void turbo replacement. Unfortunately my SA lacks big time in the customer service department. |

Don't pick up a used intake manifold. There is a DIY fr the nipple that breaks if it is the one that leads to the BOV. I superglued mine and then when my car got walnut blasted I borrowed my intake manifold for a bit to fix it. Sorry cant find the DIY but just do some searching on google.
