How do you set that speed chime, that might prove very useful!

Thanks!

I'd be more interested in finding a way to hack it to use my own .wav file!

Thanks!
Open start menu
Call up "navigation"
select "car data"
select "limit"

from there you can set the speed you want and enable or disable the warning chime.

Shouldn't you set it to 87 that way you wont have to worry about inadvertently going back in time.

I work as a valet on the side and that chime drives me nuts.

There is an option to turn it down in the computer of your car,........ however like some one said earlier you can turn the volume on the chime all the way down and it still sounds like it does when the volume is all the way up. WTF??

Does the speed warning chime sound the same as the start-up chime?

On the std radio, go into the settings for bass/treble, etc. On right side you'll see an arrow for more settings, they are "gong" & "SV". Try turning down the gong setting. BTW SV = Speed Volume control.

I wonder if they coded out the ability to change the gong volume for US cars? THe way BMW USA works sometimes it would not surprise me.

Has anyone figured out how to turn this damn thing off?

I was just out cleaning and washing my car--had the door open and had to listen to that stupid thing the whole time. God, this is annoying! I like to listen to my radio while I am drying, cleaning the wheels, cleaning the door sills, etc....and you just can't do it--I had to take the key out it was so annoying.

By far, this is the most annoying aspect of the car so far. But as someone else said--it is loud and annoying. My gas indicator went off the other day, and the fucking gong was as loud as the radio volume!!! And since I had been jamming, it scared the shit out of me!

This really sucks.....

No, I saw your earlier post--I just didn't see that anyone had managed to figure it out in the E82 yet.

I will be anxious to see if something along the same line as your X5 can be done to the 135....

you probably know this but you can play your radio for 15 minutes without the key in and it shuts off on it's own - at least it did in my X3, it should on all BMW's.
