TC Kline Double Adjustable
Anyone running this kit on track days? Thoughts/reviews?
I like the optional spring rates, linear springs, and inclusion of camber plates. I'm looking for a kit more for track time than daily driver. Thanks! -Joe |

Unless you want to spend the dime on a MCS or Ohlins setup, the TC Kline D/A will be perfect. I have been running my setup for over 2 years now without any issues. before that I had AST and am happy I made the switch. I am running Swift springs in 450Lbs front and 720Lbs rear with helper springs rear and the adjustability you get from them is amazing. I am also running Vorshlag camber plates too.
I do Spa Francochamps yearly and also about 5 trips to Nurburgring with 4-5 laps when I go and every now and then I go to Hockenheim. The car is also my daily driver. TC Kline did their homework well when they developed these. You will not be disappointed whatsoever.

I just made the switch from Konica yellows to ast4100, what do you like so much better about the tckline da than the ast? I think the ast are much better than the Koni yellows.

Elsabor67 - thank you for the reply. What settings are you using for rebound and compression?
Thanks. -Joe |

AST is not a bad brand at all but I sending them yearly to get the fronts rebuilt at almost $400 each made me rethink my selection. Joe, I am using up front +8/12 Damping and +4/12 rebound and for the rear I am using +6/12 damping and +8/12 rebound. It helps keep the car balanced as the 1 series likes to get a bit tail happy under hard braking. These settings help dissipate much of that.

I've been running my TCK D/As for about 3 years here, happy customer.
The shocks are a bit noisy (IE best term to use clunky) at parking lot speeds and when valving is extremely low. They'll also make noise when they're cold until they warm up. However they seem to fit the bill for me, their rebound valving is extremely well and compression I barely use, but just a tad bit. I'm running #400/700 springs |

Thanks for the replies. Any tips on installation? Besides the spreader tool, are there any other speciality tools?
I went with 350/600 for springs. -Joe |

What do you mean by noisy? I noticed that even over the slightest bump, I get what I will call a gurgling sound, not a rattle. Is this the shock? I had camber plates installed at the same time and thought the noise was coming from them. |

The sound has to deal with the internal valving and design. It's totally normal, if you turn up rebound and or compression sound will reduce. Also; make sure you're never completely on full soft/stiff. Make sure you're 1/8th of a turn or 1 click off because valves could potentially stick |

For the rear - is this the correct order in which to install the strut?
Thank you! -Joe |

Also - does this top part (black piece) come off, or are these fittings included with the kit pressed into them? Seems like a very tight fit!
Thank you! -Joe |

Knock the black cup out with a mallet. It is not reused. For the rear shock, you have the portion that goes underneath the car correct, assuming the stock bushing is under the rubber dust boot. From inside the trunk you need the factory bushing that is attached to the factory nut. Then put the other big washer from the kit, then lock washer, then nut.

side view
Here's a side view without the dust cup of course. Then you put lock washer and nut. Dust cover goes just like you have it in the pick above.

Vorshlag camber plates will be in soon, and then I'll get the front done. After that, I'll let you know!

Since I've never done this before - I'd love to check if this looks correct. I assume you can assembly the strut/spring/camber plate as a unit before installing, or am I missing something?
Thanks! -Joe |
