BMW sells replacement VIN stickers?!

Also, I thought I saw the rear door panels removed in one pic. How easy is it to get those off? I have a slight speaker rattle i'd like to take care of.

No....didnt get the sticker from BMW.....transfered it from the old door jamb to the new one....

the rear inner trim panels are clipped on .......youll need a clip remover and maybe a plastic wedge set.....and patience......btw....there is no speaker in that area....do you mean the rear speaker shelf?

Doesn't the VIN sticker have scored lines throughout to prevent easy removal? I always wondered what shops do when they need to transfer them.

I think my rattle is coming from the inner panel, but haven't completely tracked it down yet.

With a little a patience and the right technique, the vin sticker comes right off....there's also a certain way to re-attach it using paper thin double back tape........

I may have the same... sounds like a loud, angry mosquito behind me at highway speed. Planning to let the dealer take care of mine once I have another reason to take it in.

A-, I went to the shop today (day earlier than planned). They were unsure where they have stored my stock exhaust (hopefully still means it is there!), they promised to look around and let me know. So I'll get back to you the moment I know more.

In the meantime, look frwd to your updates, looks like you will have her ready by the weekend

True, inside the trunk area, you need to take out the trunk liner to reach the amplifier. I did not do that but had to make an extensive search when I was not able to spot my 9th and 10th Harman/Kardon speakers anywhere I was just counting 8 speakers!; turned out to be they were invisible and integrated inside the midrange speakers at the rear parcel shelf.

+1 my rear speakers make something vibrate in the panel slightly. its so annoying.
having removed the interior trim is there anything you think could be the cause?

top work by the way, are you doing a carbon roof on this one?

If you have the Harmon Kardon option you can't access the amp from inside the trunk area.....it's mounted up more towards the front door....you need to remove the inner left rear panel next to the back seat....it's mounted on a sort of oval shape metal plate....

Thanks for the correction. It is good to know since I am sure one day this is going to be needed.

Window adhesive is applied to the rear and side window channels....

Windows are bonded back in...

Rear bumper gets mounted as does the front....

You can get one, but you have to go through your dealer and they have to go to their BMWNA rep.

#740 lives !

Getting ready to take it for a wheel alignment...seems like the previous owner installed Ground Control camber plates...don't really care for this stuff on a street car but I'll leave them on for now...
After wheel alignment, going to get the airbag light reset....

Then the car has a few dust nibs that need to be sanded and polished out...

Ready to be delivered tomorrow...
any takers...lol ?
