I used double sided tape on mine. In fact, I have used double sided 3m on all my aerodynamic pieces on all my cars, roof spoilers and wings. None of them have ever come off. You will be fine.

Got it at Auto zone. Make sure you get the body molding one. Its made just for spoilers and body parts. Stick it on and press down firmly for a few minutes and you are all set. Make sure it doesnt get wet for the first day or so to let it cure. Make sure you use plenty of it. Follow the great vid John made and put tape all the way around the edges. That is how i did it and its solid as a rock.

That goop is a mess. Oh and make sure you use light water mist so you can move the spoiler around a bit when positioning it. Otherwise if the tape touches the surface its a pain to lift and reposition. You will be fine. Its super easy and the video pretty much walks you through it.

I'm sure I'll be just fine. I have the two CF mirror covers and the rear CF wing coming on Thursday. it should snazz up my 135i quite nicely.

just how sturdy is your CF wing on your car? I went to my local auto parts store today to buy the same 3M tape that you used. I have the same CF as you do on the way and I'm getting all my ducks in a row.

my only concern is that the one guy at the auto parts store told me there's no way in hell that he'd ever trust double-sided tap with a $400 CF wing. this got me thinking if I should abort this idea and go with the BMW goop route.

so what do you think?
My CF wing is very solid. It actually has seemed to get more solid the longer it has been on the car. No issues at all. I was considering re-installing with the BMW sealant, but there is no need. The spoiler fits perfect and I have Zero issues with the 3m tape.

Thats what I used. You just need to be patient and use plenty of elbow grease. Make sure you read the back. It will say safe for all car finishes. Make sure you wax the area which you use the goo gone on afterwards to make it shine like new.

does the Goo Gone get rid of any wax residue so the 3M tape sticks really well or will I have to use something else to prep the surface area?

Goo-gone is all you need. The tape is super sticky.

*update*

I finally installed my CF mirrors and the rear spoiler and everything went well. the only problem I have with the spoiler is that I didn't put any tape on the far most rear part of the mid section of the spoiler. this makes it to where the spoiler can mover up and down very, very slightly if and when its touched in the middle.

I did put tape on the outter edges of the spoiler and everything is nice and tight. my only concern now is if the spoiler will make any noises when the car is driven? I dont think it will because you have to push on the rear part of the mid section for it to move.

the other concern is will this wear the paint underneath the spoiler on the deck lid without having any tape? uuggghhhhh!

Went the tape route as in the video. Especially appreciate the tip about removing the old spoiler with a microfiber towel.

Ditto (be very patient) and yes you will have to use LOTS of elbow grease! It will come off and I agree to shine it up after you get ALL the glue off. Good luck and just take your time.
