questions about re painting diffuser

I dont dislike the rear diffuser, I just dislike the grey color it kinda looks cheap. I have a blk shapp 135i, I wanted to remove my rear diffuser and get it custom painted. I would like anyones help with Photoshop some unique looking colors and ideas. I kinda been picturing getting the diffuse sprayed a deep red, then also get the brake calipers red also. It would diffently pop, do you guys think its too much.... Your thoughts??? looking for something different.

Update: project finished very happy with results pics are on post #24-#25

I think the red might be a bit much. The CF diffuser would probably look awesome, but it's damned expensive. To be honest I can't think of a color that would actually look good on a black car. Unless maybe you color keyed it to match the paint, but even that I'm not sure of.

The diffusor is a much bigger piece of the car than you might think when it'll be painted a contrasting, brighter color. I'm all for painting it black on any car, but I don't think red on a black car would look good just as like painting a diffuser white would look bad on a red or blue car. That said, painting the diffuser a similar match to your powdercoated wheels might look really hot. And if you are going to paint the calipers, I'd paint them red like another poster said to match that interior...

For the price of painting it you could probably buy the carbon fiber piece.

I have a guy who will do the painting for me for $190 I think the CF diffuser is way more expensive. How much is the CF diffuser? I have decided to paint the diffuser deep red or I might match the tail lights, I need to play around with paint chips but if someone has photo shop hook me up with some examples.

Thats my AW!!! Since you already have blacked out wheels and your car is black, I would black out the rear like my car. Go for the murdered out look:biggrin:

If not I would find w/e you want your accent color to be and use that. Then in later modding you can paint the accent color on minor pieces (ie brake calipers, front lip etc.)

Painting the diffuser is MUCH cheaper than the CF one. The CF diffuser is about $1400...painting the diffuser would probably be around $200 or so...

No problem please give me until Tuesday. Im not going to be back home until Tuesday so I will do what I can. Warning some will like it alot.. some will dislike it. The good thing about it, to me it looks 100% better than it did before. My only complaint about the car was the rear diffuser it looked so cheap... until I got it sprayed, calipers will be getting done to match the diffuser soon also have dual cones air intake on order so hopefully they will arrive by the time I get back and I will have some pics of that also : )
