Thoughts on the route?
The only concern I have is the condition of the roads/traction up past Lake Mountain turnoff. There has been known to be snow. I'd be happy to drive the route a couple of days before to check if people wanted. If it's too dangerous/slow then we could always do a Yea/Broadford run The black spur by itself can be crap on the weekend due to sheer volumes of tourist traffic.

That's a great route and a popular one too
I've driven this route on several occaisions with other car clubs... It does get a bit cluttered with other road users, but only if it's a great day in terms of the weather, if it's a summer/sunny day, it's busy...but at this time of the year, it should be fairly light on traffic. |

Are you doing your country rotation at Shep? I think Takahashi was up there too way back when? It's a s hit hole. My wife and I went up there to see my sister in law a couple of times. The accomodation they provide is crap too. Hope no member here is from Shep! Hahaha!

Not a medical stupid in Shep at all are you?
Dear god, that was an awful place to stay as a student. Ballarat was much much better, except it was an old priests house. That made stuff a bit weird, but it was nice and close to the pub on the lake which was the most important thing!

Just been to Lake Mountain Sunday. Snow does not happen until half way up the drive to the top. Snowing at the end. Resurfaced road is very slippery. Keep the DTC on. WAY don't understeer ok?

I don't know if these KW's would be suitable for runs like this as they are hard (that is if I go for Clubsport). I reckon V3 would be a better option for this sort of use, but Clubsport will be better for the track.

sorry to go off topic but that is the thing about coilovers in general i think. its soooo much easier to make infinitely adjustable damping/compression on a "screw" which has infinite adjustments within the bounds anyway! the trick is to have optimized presets for road, gravel, track, snow, etc. what's the news on the bilstein ride controls for the 135? does anyone know?

Hmmm....week before a race meeting so I think that weekend will be pretty busy for me. I'll see what I can do but I'll have to be a late RSVP.

Didn't mind Shep when I was up there in '97! :iono:
Maybe I just got low standards? Or I am a bogun at heart.

Apologies for the 17th. Recommend the road from Glenburn pub (a good stopping point) to Flowerdale, but beware of constabules and bikers on a Sunday.
Enjoy
