There's a place in Mt Pleasent called Exclusviely Bimmers. I sold my Z3 to a guy who wanted to have it checked out. They checked it out in 1/2 hour and charged $60. Here's their website. i was impressed with them and will have them work on mine when the warranty runs out

Frankly... I would give them back the keys and refuse to sign and have them return any money you have them and find a new dealer if it bothers you that much. Major body work? Yes... Then I could see stomping your feet and demanding compensation and getting upset. Intercooler, Oil cooler, engine related parts? Nah... That isnt going to affect resale of the vehicle like you think it is... But if they are having you a paper stating the work was done I would pull the carfax and make sure it isnt on the carfax. If it is, and you choose to buy the car, then the resale is going to go down a grand or two. |

Yeah it doesnt bother me too much but it bothers me that they probably knew about it then didnt mention it thinking i would sign it after i signed the lease so they will have to hear from me at the least. Can anyone run a carfax for me please? Wbaun7c55cvm25625

Due to the circumstances have them agree to pay for a pre-paid-inspection (PPI) at a local shop. Then if all checks out keep the car if you like it since you dont have plans on buying it. You might be able to discuss 'diminished value' of the car due to the unreported accident to obtain a lower lease payment. GL

The fact that you don't plan on keeping the car is irrelevant imo. Lucky for them, but no reason that you should have a car that is potentially worth less than you thought. I've sold leased cars that held their value and made money rather than turning them in.If the accident is disclosed on carfax or evident in inspection or a review of service records, etc good luck selling the car. Your only option would be to turn it in.
Another poster here commented about offering to return the car and having them give you the same deal on an accident free car. Would they be willing to do that? Probably not. At a minimum, I'd want them to pay for an independent shop to do an inspection, a clean carfax in hand, and PPK1 / whatever else you can get out of it. That's going to be cheaper than taking the car back and doubt they'd so no. I'm not a fan of taking what I'm not entitled to, but they are trying to slide one by on you, and you should either get some compensation for it or move on. If you knew, would you have leased this car? I'm not a lawyer, but based on a prior similar experience, they wanted that signature from me badly (mine had mileage stated wrong by 5 miles). Obviously I had no problem signing off on that, but they were REALLY nice to me over something this minor. Good luck, and glad you're enjoying the vert! mg

Here is what the BMW manager has sent me:
Lewis, I hope all is well. I see the conversation that you have had with Dan about the damage that was done to your BMW 135 CV. I understand that you are looking for some kind of compensation. I can offer you one of two things; 1. HAG Extended Service Agreement - This will take care of any concerns of repairs (suspension) later down the road. 2. BMW 101 experience - drive up the night before. Stay at a nice hotel. The next day you get to drive on the track in Spartanburg, tour the plant and museum and will close the day with some hot laps. As you can see we are trying to keep you happy. Let me know what time you will stop by. |

Im getting a JB stage 1 or 2 so the PPK1 I think would be pointless? Or I'm going to ask for tire and wheel warranty or lower payments...

only hurts you if you intend to try to sell the vehicle in the future, and they see that in the vehicle history report.

If it were me, I'd turn the car back and walk away. You just don't know what you're getting into.

I wouldn't do that on a leased car that you have argued with the Dealer over. They could very well serve you some payback if you come in with a problem and they find evidence of an aftermarker tune. You will have no legs to stand on.

Walk away - You don't want someone else's junk. They're offering you compensation that isn't equal to what has happened.
I think of it this way: You're at a dealership, ordering your new 135i.. You're piecing it together and the guy goes. Oh wait, before you get this car, it's going to smack a curb and replace over 4k worth of parts, and you get it at the same price! You don't mind, right? Something could be slightly bent, twisted, stressed.. etc. Pretty sure that's grounds for a price reduction... but even so, I'd walk away and pick up another ride. |

if you're leasing and it's all covered under warranty and you're simply dropping it back off at the dealership when you're done then....
Who cares? I wouldn't give them any subsequent business on accounts of them being shady. Unless they give you a good reach around. Of course. |

To everyone saying "you're only leasing it" - ever had a problem car? It's not fun. Trip after trip to the dealer, trying to fix something they just can't seem to fix. Ugh.

IMHO you're nuts if you sign. I'd want a new car. Don't let the excitement sway your good judgment. How does a "full disclosure" dealer let you drive off the lot w/o you signing? Then they have the balls to ask you to come back and sign? Sorry, but you got fk'd and your crazy if you sign. Good luck!
