Double jeopardy -- HPFP and horn (of all things) failed in two consecutive days

Yesterday, I lost the low tone to my horn. The remaining horn is higher than that of the smallest korean car that you can imagine.

Today, in the left lane of 93 south in Boston, I put my foot down and was rewarded with no power and a very disturbing boggy, rattling feeling.

Man, I love this car.

Eternal alignment issues
Blown blinker after a year
More rattles than a day care
High horn only
Shot HPFP

I'm counting the days until my lease is up next summer so I can defect and get an Audi S4.

Blasphemy!

All joking aside, I'm sorry to hear you've had terrible luck with your car. It's unfortunate. I hope your luck improves.

oh, and my loaner is a Hyundia Elantra! I will say that the folks at the dealership have been very good; they just didn't have any BMWs loaners left.

Had the same failure last summer...you're right, it sounds like a clown car with just the high tone. BTW, be prepared for a long wait: took over a week to get a new horn for me. Don't know if things have improved...

What dealership did you go to in Boston? When I called ahead it seems like a lot of them are booked for loaners 1+ weeks so at least you could get one!

Why do you need horn? Are you living in India? I didn't see any other country where people use it

The new S4 is really nice.

BTW, why did you choose a small coupe, but now want a larger sedan?
I'm just curious because when I was shopping I was in the market for an A4 or 3 series sedan, but I ended up with my 135i.
I do miss the added convenience and size of a sedan in the A4/3 series size. I just don't like that every model year they keep making this car class bigger and bigger and bigger.
I mean, if I want or need a bigger sport sedan, then I'd go with a 5 series or A6. I don't get why then need to keep making every size segment bigger. The 3 becomes the 5, the 5 becomes the 7, the 7 becomes a behemoth. The next 1 will probably be bigger too, and I'll bet it will be at least the size between the E46 and the current E90/92.
Then they'll bring in the BMW "0/Zed" series.

Car is back. New HPFP + it was reprogrammed. Starts great, sounds great, but feels a little more tame.

I want an S4 to accomidate an expanding family. I'm also sick of staggered wheels and tires. I want the ability to rotate.

I told them about the horn but it wasn't fixed. I don't really care. As a poster said earlier, I don't use it. I was using it Monday morning to cheer on some Boston Marathoners when it broke.

My dealer is BMW Gallery Norwell.

surprised about the horn failures, my horn was broken from the factory, I don't know how they miss that during the delivery inspections, but they did, both high/low would blow the fuse, both were replaced

Took my lexus is for recall today and got a 2010 RX350 with 3 miles on it. :P A little bit better than an Elantra but still boring to drive. For some reason I think BMW may being suffering the same issue Toyota had, growing pains. BMW is expanding, increasing in volume, expanding model lines. It is a logistical mess. Something has to fall between the cracks, unfortunate for Toyota that crack is a gorge now.
