Delivery Delay
Hi, I took delivery of my sedona beauty in june and on time. A friend of mine had one due for delivery late november. he has been told he wont get it until feb now (although he would get a 2009 model, lol). :iono:
Has anyone else experienced this problem and does anyone know why? Steve |

Wow that seems dodgy!
Does BMW not allow you to track the vehicle from the time the order is sent to BMW Germany? MB has a system where you can start tracking your order within a few days of placing it at the dealer all the way to delivery. |

I've heard stories of orders getting bumped to meet the needs of "valued" clients who are demanding earlier deliveries.
It's going to depend on when he ordered. A four to five month wait is about par for the course. Also worth bearing in mind is BMW shut down the Leipzig factory where the car is made for a week or two as well I believe. |

He ordered no later than August and perhaps late July. He has had no VIN confirmation etc. They were to get back to him yesterday, but he's still waiting. I think the dealer may have stuffed up. Anyway, thanks for the input everyone and I'll keep you informed

Our dealer says its an oz-wide problem. Could it be with our $ now a pacific peso again, and the US$ on a high that they've diverted cars there to cut their losses? They can sell the stuff with plastic seats and no good stuff at a reasonable Euro rate. It is true that the Leipzig plant was closed but I dont know why.

The plant was closed, apparently, for the normal scheduled break to allow retooling for the '09 model.
