Point well taken. I'm just a little obsessive about not sticking out into the street; getting as close to the curb as possible. But I think it's pretty clear I'm better off in the middle of the road than scraping the hell out of my beautiful new wheels. Oh well. No one seems to want to take advantage of my crazy deal.

I'm not sure if anyone has been following ebay auctions, but 135i coupes have been going for $27-$28k with less miles, more options, and no damaged wheels. I don't want to stink up your sale ad but I figured I'd throw that out there because it is fact. I think if you want to move this 135i you will have to lower it to around $26-27k. Sad but true. If it were closer instead of across the country I'd come take a look....

And I'm very sorry about your insurance rates. I just checked with my agent on Friday and was quoted $57/month for full coverage, $250 deduct. I was pleasantly surprised.

Good luck with the sale

Fortunately, I'm not desperate to sell. I want to sell it, but below 29K to me is silly. The wheels are a non-issue to me; I can get them polished to new for a few bucks, and if that's really the deal-breaker for someone I think I can account for that. We'll see what happens. It's an amazing car and if I'm forced to keep it I won't be heartbroken.

Update: Just wanted to add something about the mileage. I get why people look at the mileage of a car as a very important factor in its value. I too would place a lot of importance on it if I were shopping for a used car. BUT, I really can't understand the extent to which a car with, let's say, 7K miles, is really worth all that much more than one with 13K. The cosmetic stuff that I have disclosed is partially a function of the fact that I've had it for a year, driven it 13K miles, and have parked it (with little precision) in a city. The fact that the exterior (wheels and little nicks) is not mint, is something that I should get dinged for in my sale price. The effect of this 5-10K difference in mileage on the drivetrain, however, seems marginal at best. I would expect this car to last 200-300K miles. It runs as good today as it always has, and if my calculation is correct, it hasn't even lived 5% of its life. The interior, by the way, is perfect. I just think people are missing the boat on a great buy if they are fixated on this difference in mileage. I encourage you look at the big picture instead of numbers on paper. And of course, buy my car.

Thanks!

I still have not sold the car. I'm taking offers. Best one so far is $28K. If someone can beat that the car is yours.
