EvolveR tune for 125i
Had the tune done through SouthernBM - thanks Andrew
Before and after Dyno attached - a bit dodgy and out of calibration but the improvement is consistent and significant across the range. Blue is power and green is torque Conditions similar, if anything, the later dyno was on a hotter day - 18 vs 23deg air temp. Peak power 121kW vs 96kW peak torque 2850N vs 2600N The car has been tested previously at Advan in Sydney and produced 129kW peak power about a year ago. I have aFe intake and BMW PE exhaust installed. Personal impressions - not much change at lower rpm, but past 3.5K feels more eager to rev and noticeably faster to pick up speed. Overall the character of the car is slightly more aggressive, but not markedly so unless you flog it mercilessly. I haven't taken the car to the track, but that's where the improvements would show better I guess. For the cost - $1299 installed - I am actually pretty happy. Over 20% gain and across a decent rev range. For a NA car that's remarkable.

Manual. There's a few nice ones I've seen for sale recently but I'm not into the colours. I'm pretty fussy with what I'm after.
Ideally:
Just a matter of waiting for the right one to come along I think. |

Hi morris86 and welcome
I bought a 2010 125i coupe earlier in 2013 with similar criteria to yours, although I wanted low km (<40k). As you may be discovering, there are far fewer MT cars than autos available, so in the end I settled on a non M-sport car (with some regret) as it ticked all the other boxes. Be patient and you will be rewarded In the meantime, enjoy researching & contemplating possible mods ... |

3 month update and re-do Dyno at Advan Performance
Car still feels happier to rev and accelerate compared to before the tune Fuel consumption unchanged No engine lights or error codes Starts as per normal Overall - very happy Updated Dyno from Advan below Blue line before, red line after. Torque and power both show substantial improvement across the range. Previous max power 129 kW

People in the tuning business will tell you not to look at the top numbers but rather at the area under the curve and consistency of improvement across rev range. Either way its 23% more killer wasps and much more responsive.
From about 3K revs the difference in attitude is noticeable with the seat-of-the-pants dyno 4.5K on - its a different car, almost no idea what made BMW de-tune 125i compared with 130i....

So a sophisticated and refined tune that can rip your face off at the press of a throttle. |

I took advantage of the low GBP and bought this tune a couple of weeks ago.
Had a bit of drama installing the tune, car wasn't starting for a few days but after a new stock tune file, it's been working without drama since. Only thing I felt was lacking was that the delay in throttle response from when you actually press the pedal to the car accelerating is still very noticeable, even after the tune. I had hoped that this would be reduced or eliminated but it seems that it hasn't. Also, not sure if I just didn't notice it before but there is a distinct knocking sound on downshift (AT) at low speeds, i.e. around car parks, coming to a stop, etc; will continue to monitor. |

Sorry to drag up an old thread, but I'm very interested in this tune.
I have just sold a 130i, loved the power, didn't like the hatchback body or the fact that the car was getting old and tired. I am about to purchase a 125i and am hoping to get similar amounts of go with the Evolve tune. Imran has quoted 595 GBP delivered. Is there any benefit to purchasing from a local provider (besides the warm fuzzy's of supporting Australian). My understanding is you receive a tuning device and its just a matter of uploading a copy of your tune and downloading a copy of the upgraded tune from Evolve and applying it? Do I need to supply a trickle charge to the battery? I'd really love to hear from anyone else who has applied this tune. The dyno results from the OP are impressive, I'm hoping I can achieve the same. |

It'll also be a lot cheaper purchasing from them overseas due to our strong dollar and lack of tax. You are right in your assumptions, I would definitely suggest using a treacle charger while tuning. |
