bav technic has the best cable, and the software is pretty neat

the cable also works perfectly for EDIABAS/ISTA etc. coding software, so you can literally do everything with it... oh and the BBflash stuff, the only cable that's guaranteed to work properly.

Bav. technics cable does not work with inpa/ediabas BMTECHNIC cable did.
The best cable for diagnostic with with inpa/ediabas and Rheingold is-

http://www.one-stop-electronics.com/...&product_id=16

There is plenty of downloads on the forums of Inpa/Ediabas search for BMW CODING PACK MAY 2013 it has everything you need
Then there is BMW latest Rheingold diagnostic which you can use that cable its freely available over the forums
Rheingold works on all models right up to 2014 this is fast and great.

Thanks for that guys. Found this link too. http://www.bimmerfest.com/forums/sho...d.php?t=699036

Just need to decipher how to use it, it looks complicated. Is there just one program that you can install that just talks to the car thru the cable?

Is there anyone in SA that has a cable I could borrow for the day?

each program can do different things - you'd have to fiddle with each one/check out *********/bmwcoders forums.
