Thumbs down OT: Royal National Park .. deliberately dropping oil onto bends?

This is just a bizarre, and unbelievably dangerous, thing for someone to do. I cannot imagine what their motivation was. I was heading through this stretch in the RNP only last weekend, so is a particularly relevant reminder that we never have to look far to find a moron misbehaving.

The RNP is a death trap.

Last time I went through there I almost died - never again.

I had my wife with me and If I wasnt going intentionally slow to take a sharpish corner, a complete pyscho would have collided head-on into us (he was on the wrong side of the road) and the uber-bogan in his supercar, sorry "Pajero", that was tailgating me at the time would have pulverised any chance of survival into the ground.

Do you think the super-Pajero man stop tailgating me after witnessing our horrific near miss? Of course not!

What should be a nice relaxing drive through nature becomes just like driving in the city; highly dangerous, stressful and not worth the bother.

its all 60kph through there now and heavily patrolled by cops as well. Local councils and Police said they were scraping a motorcyclist off the road down there at least once a week and something had to be done to stop the carnage. used to be a fun drive but not any more.

some kind of local anti hoon vigilante probably

Been through there on my Ducati many times. Motorcyclists are different people to drivers.

That!!

I'm biased, and happy to admit it. You get idiots everywhere, and driving / riding everything.

What I will say is, while you get the "knee-down" brigade out every weekend - and they're just crazy, as a group, bikers are more alert to danger, and have a keener eye for potential problems than YOUR AVERAGE car driver.

I think it's as simply as the natural human pursuit of self preservation, and an awareness of ones own vulnerability
