I'm definitely looking forward to seeing the M2 in person, hopefully at the NYIAS. I can't see this being my next car though, I think I'd rather replace my ST with a Focus RS.
I'm sure M2 owners will love their cars, I just don't think I'll enjoy it as much as I enjoy my 1M. It's hard to put into words, and when I say it like that it sounds so smug lol.

I've had many sports cars in the past but my excitement over the 1M after 1.5yrs seems to keep rising every time I drive it. |

My 1M has electric and heated seats. Couldn't see the point of a stripper unless you are using it for track. Mines now pumping out 410HP which offsets the minor weight issue |

Assuming reviews confirm an intrinsic power oversteer handling: +1 Many reasons really: based on the M2 pics so far the RS looks slightly more iconic, 5 doors make it truely DD-able and versatile, in EU it comes with (~BMW/Recaro) performance seats option, is available in beautiful shades of blue. |

i totally agree with you! its so strange that they went with a very plain look. not too much to distinguish it from other 2 series cars. i mean i know there are things... but it just isnt very impressive in its look. for contrast in the bumpers check out this link: http://cdn.bmwblog.com/wp-content/up...op-750x500.jpg i LOVE that bumper but they opted to make the M2 look like it had buck teeth instead.

Looks:
Rear lights and rear reflector (areas) are disproportionally large. Not a fan. Side profile: Dullest. Looks as if the rear bumper is trying to poop out its evil twin!? Some great looking angles, head up the M2 looks better than the 1M (1M weak spot). Overall: less 'I want' emotions coming up as with the 1M at a higher price. Handling (the primary reason for buying an ///M): TBC (hope they had an electric steering breakthrough wrt feedback) Last edited by eeghie; 10-28-2015 at 06:54 PM.. |

I have to say the M2 looks awesome and I am sure is a great car. But the 1M goes down in history as one of the greatest BMW of all time.
IS the M2 likely to match this ? I think not. Just my two cents! |

I think it looks pretty good, just nowhere near as cool as the 1M.
The 1 had that instant 'must have' appeal, which the M2 doesn't (in images at least). With that in mind, if I were in the market for another car and the 1M didn't exist I'd certainly be taking one for a drive. |

Oh, and Porsche fully realized that it got pure gold on its hands with the GT4, so it readjusted the pricing policy a little bit. It will launch the Cayman GT4 Clubsport in the near future. All yours for a modest $165,000. KA-CHING...
