Magnaflow exhaust on 128i

Sup guys,

Anyone running the cat-back exhaust from magnaflow? Thoughts? Looking into making some noise but not finding many options for my 2010 128. Most systems I'm finding are for 135's and will require some modification which I am trying to avoid. What are you N/A guys working with?

Thanks

I've got one. It's nice-looking and build quality and fitment is good. Tone is deeper than stock, and a bit louder - but it's part of their Touring series, so don't expect obnoxiously loud. That's part of the reason I bought it - the exhaust went in at the same time as catless headers, and I didn't want the combo to be crazy loud.

Anyway, I've got a sound clip in my build thread, and should have a better one up towards the end of next week. Of course it won't be apples to apples, since my headers aren't stock, but it should give you some idea.

I have one on my car too that I mated up to the supersprint mid section. I posted some pictures of it in the STX build thread.

The exhaust note is deep, no drone, fitment was really good. I have had it on for two years now and I have no regrets. Not even on long road trips.

You are supposed to cut the midpipe behind the cats and slip the magnaflow over the stock pipes (I'm not sure if the n52 has the secondary cats like the n51 does). I went with the supersprint mids because I didn't want to hack up the stock exhaust in case I needed to put it back on in the future. I also wanted to dump the extra set of cats.

Just put one on mine...perfect fit, beautiful quality, big open system, but surprisingly docile...until the Stage 3 wakes up, then it sounds like a XKE Jaguar or 6 cyl Aston-Martin...absolutely love the sound...of course, the AA headers are sweetening up the sound too...

I have AA headers and the MF cat-back on my 128i as well. If you look through my build thread (linked in my sig), there is a "drive-by" video with the set-up, as well as a video of a dyno pull.

Doesn't sound half bad man (kudos for the bumper hahaha I was entertaining the idea of pulling the trigger on one). I will say the exhaust seems a tad bit tamed for my liking

Yeah, it sounds great but it is a little tame. I honestly think the BMW Performance exhaust sounds better than anything else I've hear on our cars. I was just afraid it would be too loud with headers.

I think the MF does have a wonderful deep tone, and it works for me that it's not too, too loud. I mean, I think I'm a little too old for the "tuner" thing, lol. It sounds sporty, expensive, but conservative. Works for me.

I can't blame you (I love a deep smooth tone above anything) and besides that its ALWAYS a wonderful thing to not get the attention of cops!!!!!! I really hop in the near future we grow a larger set of options

Active Autowerk was testing a muffler out for us but nothing came of it. Supersprint is another option but it's not going to be PE loud. Never the less, a quality piece. Also, the stock 135i exhaust fits perfectly on our cars. Hangers and everything line up, even the shape of the pipe so you just need to either weld or clamp it on; the 135i has slightly larger pipe diameter as well.

Probably bumped the sound up 40% (don't ask how I came up with that number lol);it sounds great, but I don't think it's as loud as the PE.

Here is my review of the setup. I liked it, but I've had it for about 8 months and I want it to be louder.
