Report: BMW Considering 1M CSL ?
Seems as though they have not ruled out extending the 1M "family"

At that price your moving into M3 money so you could now say that that it will certainly be stepping on the toes of its older brother!
It seems this is the second article that appears to confirm that there is still UK allocation left. A little disappointing as I would have expected all cars to be sold. |

Enjoy your special little 1M. I would. They came out with the M3 E46 years ago and then came out with a CSL ONLY for the Euro market (no cars made for the US market) and limited edition. Didn't make any of us americans, who love BMW's, happy. But we are just as happy owning a regular M3... |

The car is popular because of what you get for the price.
A CSL version which cost 20 a 25.000 euro more. Is a lot for a 1 series M. I rather see a bigger performance line available for this car. Sportier Seats / Race seats Brakes from safety car/GTS front splitter like Safety car/GTS iighter Hood Lighter rear trunk ---> more CSL style Performance springs Lower!!! Alcantara Steeringwheel with M stiching Performance upgrade to 380hp and no speedlimiter with factory quarentee 18 inch lichtweight wheels like the GT4 one. |

If this was made, it probably wouldn't make it to the US like past cars.
Plus when will this CSL get produced? 2012? It wouldn't have the n54 engine due to the emissions right? |

As for it not coming over to the US, I certainly hope this is not the case. They did it with the E46 CSL which was a bummer. Hopefully not with a new 1MCSL. but if they did, I would be just as happy with a 1M |

If a 1M CSL is made but not offered in the US, the LEAST BMW could do is bring some of the parts to the US... like the GTS-style front splitter

"There is scope for a CSL version,’ BMW product manager James Morrison told us. ‘This car has certainly generated a buzz. When we planned for this car we were cautious, but now there’s some hype surrounding the 1M so there’s clearly going to be some people looking at what we can do next.
‘M is the pinnacle of engineering so if there’s a CSL proposition or something really different that we could consider then we would. If there’s something special and unique we can do with it then absolutely we would." - J

Scott26,
Can you give some information on the timing of additional news? I'm currently on the waiting list at my dealership. It would be nice to have an idea when some additional news might be coming out. It would be helpful to those of us on a list, in case we'd like to adjust our order (while we still can). Thanks, Leif W. |

How is that killing the experience??? You're getting a 1M right? You are one of the few lucky ones. Be grateful, sheesh!
They are only making the 1M for 1 year (actually less than that). If they do make a CSL, it might not even make it over to US shores. So, that would REALLY suck (twice) for us Americans who wanted the E46 CSL. But we still got a E46 ZCP |
