I just got back from having huper optik film installed (on black sapphire metallic)
I'm very happy with the film! This is the legal limit in VA. I also had the moon roof glass done and was able to drive over an hour home with the shade slid back. I washed the car in a hurry to take pics before the sun went down.
This stuff blocks heat. >> >> >> >>

Great match with the Black Sapphire Metallic. Tinting anything in front of the B Pillar ist verboten in MA though, and they pull you over for it here, unlike me driving around without my front plate for the past decade, unmolested by da Man.

black + tint = hottness!
Really like the combo but then again i'm a little biased to black and red  To be honest though, from the pictures it looks like the car isn't really tinted at all. Is that 50%? Any bubbles around the dox matrix? Very nice though :w00t:

Yea, but don't forget to look at the specs of each film you consider. I paid extra for film that blocks the most sun to protect the leather and make it easier on the a/c in the summer. Cheap tint will look good and keep people from seeing you but they don't do squat for blocking other things besides visible light.

Nice tint. I'm thinking about doing 30% on mine. 50% doesn't look dark enough. I see you bought your car at Checkered Flag. I bought mine there too. Who was your CA?

Where are you getting that info from? Mass.gov says otherwise: http://www.mass.gov/rmv/faq/inspection.htm#13 What are the specifications for aftermarket window tinting? For most vehicles, aftermarket tinting that registers at least 35% on a tint meter on side windows immediately adjacent to the driver and front passenger seats, and side windows immediately to the rear of the operator and passenger, is acceptable. The rear window may be tinted to the 35% level, but the vehicle must be equipped with two outside rear view mirrors. The windshield may only be tinted down to the AS-1 line, which is usually located in the uppermost (6) inches of the windshield |

I see plenty of cars around here with illegally dark tint so I assume they won't bother you unless you get pulled for some other reason. I just don't want the possible hassle and my priority was blocking heat anyway. BTW, I have a hokie intern working with me this week.
